They know it doesn't work. It might have been how the address the DDoS attack used. I think a good question is whether it should come back. Or perhaps it should just come back without the ship info, so it's no different than what you can see in game. I dunno.

I don't miss the players online list, to be honest. If you want to see who's playing, there's a player list in-game which doesn't give details like the ship they're flying and such so that you can metagame your choice of ship to counter theirs and such.

I prefer not to have to launch FL in order to check who of my faction's online or doing what. Love the online list.
