For some time now i've been working on reviews for a number of freighters throughout the Discovery 4.85 mod that are specifically designed for trading. Now i've had to stop myself, i've still got quite a way to go until i've done all of them, and it's going to take alot of work. This isn't just a simple data storm stats collection. Other things such as maneuverability, coping with pirates and a number of ratios will be included in a rating system to help value each factor.

Now my question is, is it worth it?

Will people actually use this?

Is it needed?

Is it even useful in the first place?

From my point of view as a newcomer to Disco, I'd say definitely yes. FLDataStorm can be useful, but it can't tell you anything about actually flying the ship - said maneuverability, weapon mounts (blind spots, if there are any) and such. Plus, it'll be a lot easier for someone who's just thinking about buying their first trading freighter to read through all the necessary info in one place and just decide for themselves which one is the best. If you make a list like this, you're doing it for the community, and that always pays off:)I say go for it.

Good to hear, there should be 13 statistics that i'm recording. "How it flies" being one of them and blind spots like you said. Alot of the things you cant tell from numbers and dealers.

I'm a fan of freighters, so I support this. Since my characters were wiped, I'm even trying out just using a Camara for my main moneymaker, rather than going the powertrader route. It's doubtful I'll ever fly a capship, and the only other thing which requires a lot of cash when setting up a new character is those necessary VII/VIII armor upgrades. And freighters are just more fun to fly.
