I was jumped by an HF ship calling itself "Inferno" flying an Outcast Sabre fighter over planet LA. Admiral Greylin was in the system, I called on him to assist but my Avenger was critically damaged before he arrived. I managed to crash-land it near the base on LA...it'll be sometime before it's spaceworthy again though. I was able to re-launch in a secondary fighter after a brief interval. I engaged the enemy again, but did not fare any better: my ship received fatal damage and I was forced to eject. Happily, my escape pod was recovered, but I was out of the fight.
Admiral Greylin also suffered damage during the skirmish.
I'm sorry, sirs. I failed. I attribute my loss to the HF pilot's superior equipment and skill, and my own foolishness. I made the mistake of attacking him head-to-head repeatedly when he had the clear advantage in weapons, shields, and armor.

I met the aforementioned vessel this day near California Minor. Seemed nice enough. However, until he is fully vetted as being approved and/or hired by you for the defense of California, I would recommend he keep his sniffer out of my cargo hold. Appreciate it.
I would also like to make a small request. In the event of a successful Helghast attack on California Minor (perish the thought), we would like permission to conduct a small experiment of a "defensive" nature. This would involve the release of organisms into the atmosphere as well, but ones which we hope will counteract this mutating viris, or spore, or psychoagent, or bad smell, whatever it is.
If you wish, I have several hundred of the organisms aboard my vessel at California Minor under stasis and seal for your inspection. They are harmless to humans, I assure you.

While on patrol at (Blank-security reason) met field agent who had attained scans of the supposed "Planet-Killer," sadly, video garbled and only received statsitics of vessel. Its physical weapons are 6 class 10 razors and 1 inferno, plus a class 10 BS shield. Its true menace is the toxin. Unfrotunately, this was the only information provided by agent. However, he has heard rumor of a planned attack on Cali Minor on 1.29.2007 nothing more definitive has been found.
