Quote:On the other hand, Liberty could permanantly close Alaska, the Zoners, being allied to the Order would close 74 to the BH and corsairs would just shut down the Malveda cloud. No supplies would get in or out and the BH in Delta would just wither and die. A war of attrition. Either way, the BH would find there position becoming more and more difficult, the harder they pressed the Order because the corsairs, allied to the Order would start attacking them harder and harder.
Well... Then they wouldn't be able to get artifacts would they:P

The Order thus rationalizes that an agreement with the BHG is a more constructive path in dealing with mankind's worse enemy in Sirius. The BHG, realizing the extent of the looming Nomad threat, is ready to relinquish its own exclusive claims on all Nomad technology.
The BHG, having more leverage in the negotiations, would pressure the Order to nullify the alliance with the Corsairs. The Order would insist on overseeing all studies concerning the Nomads. Both parties agree to share intelligence on the Nomads. Both parties agree to share base privileges. There is no technology/vessel exchanges. The Order and BHG would have neutral relations to one another.
Regarding the conditions between the Core and the Order, this one is the one that makes the most sense to me. The war between the Core and Order is about the use of the technology gained from the Nomads. Core and Order ships even now will cooperate when presented with a Nomad threat, realizing that it is the Nomads that are the greater threat to humanities future.
So - if there is an increased threat from the Wild and the Nomads, I could see an accomodation being worked out. Nothing would bring a quicker cease fire to all the wars in the houses of Sirius than an outside threat that could eliminate all human life.
In the interests of combating the common foe ... yeah, I'd go with it. That would be the only thing that would force the Hessians and Corsairs to get along, as well - and would almost certainly cause the Zoners to join in as well.
Final battle - combined Hessian/Corsair/BAF/KNF/RM/LN/Order/BHG/Zoner cap ship fleet against the Nomad/Wild/Outcast fleet. That would be one seriously cranking battle.... (And it's not that I'm ignoring such people as the Mollies, Dragons, Xenos, Hackers, LWB, etc... there would just be so much firepower going around here that it would be ... truly an epic battle.)

Doesn't Liberty WANT the Core blasting the Order though? That saves them a lot of trouble in doing it themselves (those horrid Order terrorists and all)
Wasn't the original idea why the BHG are on places like FP9 because of securiy or something? If the Zoners tell the BH to get lost, wouldn't that lead to all sorts of chaos?
Considering the responses above I'll ask one question that sound simple but actually isn't: do you want to see and participate in a big showdown in form of series of events with duration approximately two or possibly three weeks? Simply yes, no or unsure. Just a hypothetical question.
Reason I am asking is that pretty much half a year ago I've halted all further development for the Nomads seeing the lack of interest and support from upstairs, and went to pursue personal affairs completely unrelated to Freelancer and Discovery. I've been thinking that community is not yet ready to play something on a larger scale, something that would personally interest me being a real challenge to pull it with a high quality, something truly worth to put time and effort into. Just may be there is actually a chance. I could be wrong on the other hand. Still that has prompted my initial question.
Treewyrm, my personal answer is a short and definite yes.
What this server at large lacks most, is a large scale and deep in RP event system.
Do I need to comment further?
