Possible, but only if you get:

-A new IPB license
-A new webserver
-A new domain

Leading to a base cost of at least 200 dollars, plus a monthly renewal for the webserver.

They'd also not be linked, so you could transfer the posts & users one time, but people registering/making posts after that wouldn't be there unless you got another backup...which would destroy unique posts on the backup forums.

Sorry mate, unlikely to work.

God darn, so if we make a basic forum with only a few sub-forums for events and server announcements as an example, it should be free right? I made one free long long ago.

Registration is the primary and security flaw I can see, unless we find a way to make it secure our way.

Yup. As said though, no transfer of accounts, posts, etc.

Big NO. What we need is a better server for this forum. That costs money and would take some effort from igiss and maybe korrd. So, how about you ask to get a better server and say you are willing to help pay for it. Becuase right now i think igiss pays for this space out of his pocket and therefore doesnt pay much. Hence the unreliability.

You do have a point, sadly, I'm out of work, near broke and we're all scrimping pennies unless you got a good job. This suggestion is a free way around spending money. But donating is the best alternative I concede.

Perhaps we could turn this into the who is willing to donate for a better forum host page? I have already donnated not knowing the paypal account was for server hardware only, but i did say it was to pay for webspace, so maybe they will honor that.
