Still, I like the Buccaneers and the stuff that goes alongside. And if we catch any of those damned Gaians pirating, we're stepping on heads! Pirating rival pirates is fun:P
EDIT: Plus the Gaian's still have a hardcore minority of dedicated eco-people. The Buccaneers are 100% amoral b*stards out to murder, maim and steal from the masses all in the name of making as much cash as quick as they can.
Yeah I don't have any problems with the buccaneers. If anything I think it looks good, I'm just sad that the gaians are very dead activity wise, and I think this faction could really work just fine under gaian iff/id, going off the islay infocard.
Hm. The Gaians of today, except us NLH are somewhat just pirats and all such. No more "Safe Gaia" and all that stuff.
Plus another Gaian faction of that kind could possibly give NLH an activity boost.
In a brilliant tactical movement, i charged backwards.
i have a feeling that this will end up as a PVP oriented faction... i dont know why, and i dont want to insult you, but that is what my first reaction is.

Actually, PvP will almost be an act of last resort for us. Since the original Buccaneers were crushed by the BAF 150 years ago, the modern Buccaneers are very wary of engaging any of the Bretonian lawfuls or doing anything to draw major attention from the BAF. Plus, it's just not profitable to fight when you don't have to, and we don't have any kind of political agenda or grudge to fight for. Almost all our PvP will stem from pirating (getting caught and not being able to run, or 'convincing' those who resist paying up), and even those on our list of 'Hostiles' aren't really KoS.

No insult taken. We posted this with the intent of getting people's honest opinions. Besides the points that Drake stated in the above post, I've actually made it a point in my RP to try to pay off the law when they show up, and to bugger off if it looks like it's going to get violent. If we wanted to make a pure PvP faction, there's much easier ways to go about it than what we're doing.
I ran into you guys the other day. Was fun following you around. I was glad that you kept on moving, rather just turning around and opening fire. I think the buccaneers are going to add a nice bit of flavour to proceedings in Bretonia! I look forward to an official bounty being placed on your heads, or catching you in the act.
Just one thing though, if you are actively extorting money from pirates operating in 'your' space, then other pirate factions should be unfriendly rather than neutral. I can imagine what the Mollies are going to do to you if you go and try to take their hard earned dosh!
And avoid the Privateers! That would just be a bloodbath! :P
I approve, Freelancer needs more true pirate factions. Right now we really only have the Liberty Rogues and the Gallic Brigands, and possibly the Lane Hackers but I dunno if they're really pirates or not.
Would be nice for Rhienland and Kusari to get pirate factions eventually, too.
Rogues Tag - Ummm Liberty? Even with the official status it's still Liberty Rogues which would cause confusion to the players who don't frequent the forum.
Bretonia needs a decent pirate faction. Gaians are basicly the Xenos of Bretonia with a different motive; So no Gaians. Mollys, well, i think we've all lived to see too many molly factions around. Their also a bunch of revolutionaries which kinda takes away the impression your a bunch of scallywags. Outcasts are strangely compelling, but since theres about 3 (or is it 4?) Outcasts factions already you'd have a hard time in that direction. Corsairs, no, they have two (or is it three) factions in Gamma, another pirate faction in the Omegas an it would seem unfair to let them roam around Bretonia aswell.
So i'd say, possibly Lane Hackers?
Really you want a faction that can land on most unlawful bases in Bretonia.
