Hey all, Lately i've been thinking about how to make the game more real and more enjoyable but still RP, we all scan our visitors to ensure the safety of our systems and make sure nothing bad gets in and starts getting our people sick or infected, weather its artifacts, or cardamine or nomad brains or whatever else. We protect our land from aliens, we protect our systems from intruders and whatever other dangers are out there. Now can we improve our systems?

Let say all of the people from one faction save up money to pay to add a trade lane to our system in let say the next update whenever that is?

This will make the game even more enjoyable IMO and make people want to play it day in and day out.

Like i see tons of things added to 4.85 however it would be more interesting if the players could actually do something in the game and play a role in it.

Let say the Corsairs want to build a trade lane to get through gamma faster.. they save up whatever many billions or whatever the contractors quote them for building the new highway and in the next update, the new highway project is added to the system.

Plus this could play well with the history on the wiki. If a faction is getting better according to the wiki, it would be nice if the players are actually helping it get better.

What do you all say?

I think this is a great idea. Really gives you a hand in your system. However, the fees would have to be paid and the construction approved way ahead of time to give the modders time to do the work.

Also, for something like the Corsairs getting a highway project, I think it should be RP'd some. Like contract negotiations. Not too many construction companies want to work for someone like the Corsairs. Unless they are getting paid A LOT.

Good idea

we have this already in form of the player faction guard systems, the factions save up money and get their overdeveloped dream system with huge stations, gaia class planets, ship construction sites etc.
if this would be expanded further every npc faction system would have like everything stuffed inside them like some of the current player faction guard systems. money isnt really a problem for a faction, many people like myself have made up e few billion bought all ships and cap armours they ever want and still have loads of money in spare characters, for a whole player faction that didnt just start out last week money is no restriction at all. giving everything a faction would pay for to them would just result in greatly overstuffed systems. only thing that is practical is the developement of the outer skirt house system with trade lanes, like edinburgh for example, to show the progression of developement in that system over time. but thats a thing the developers have to discuss.

If I do anything with a Junker base, it will be to have an 8.33 refire Heavy Mortar installed on all of them, and have the base randomly go red to non-hostile, non-junker parties.

That'll teach those gunboats to loiter.

Aegira wouldn't work for Corsairs, so I'd say not.

Get the Junkers on it, they did it for Gallia. <.<

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Tho, tradelanes are Ageira's property, and I don't think Ageira really wants to help Corsairs to travel faster... But I see your point, would be nice if factions could modify their home systems in some way.

Obviously everything would have to be approved first by the contractors, You cannot build a highway going through a skyscraper, you cannot build a military base at the bottom of the civilian skyscraper, you cannot build a highway going to the top of the sky scraper. Everything needs to get approved. It will not be everything but one of these things can get done.

First of all, player money balances or population are not representative of the RP of disco. If they were the corsairs would probably be ruling all of disco by now. Improvements should be within RP, which many guard systems are already pretty far removed from.

Secondly, developers and admins provide feedback at will, not on request. If they have questions they will ask you, if they want to develop it on the public section of the forums, they will post here, otherwise, you will not hear anything about it. Bumping the thread will not change any of that.
