I knew the word "enforce" would appeal...

How about there is an admin supplied reward to the player or faction who solves a "hot issue" with a role play solution instead of new rules? this could apply to oorp play by individuals or rants by groups who are angry and demanding new rights.

hmm...i would have to agree with NO.

Rewarding ppl, for engaging in RP, on an RP server is like giving a retard a lolipop for being a retard.

I say we promote the admins status to Server Gods....and when some one sucks at rp, they .kill them over and over till they get the point. Or if we get a bunch of PVP whores, they .delete their accounts, and make em stay in a starflea, so they die over and over and over at the NPC's hands.

The reports of my trying to imitate the revered Michal Golanski are greatly exaggerated...my avatar should prove this.

I read virus give some guy kudos for something done during the 'stunt'. I had the same thought, that he should try giving some form of reward to that bloke, publicly. People would try to act like him, to get such rewards. I'm not at all it would be a bad thing.

That's my point--encourage right examples instead of fostering arguing and bad sportsmenship and oorp behavior.

we understand that, but positively reinforcing, expected behavior is uneccessary, and asking for trouble.

example:

Brownnoser: Hey admin guy, i used roleplay to diffuse a situation in which a bomber was pirating a trader...
Admin: oh yeah how did you do that
Brownnoser:I rped an engagment notice and blasted that @#!@#%$ pirate to the next dimension....so do i get a reward
Admin: *facepalm*

seriously we all know that admins would be spam flooded with stupidity like this.

I think there should be a consensus and it shouldn't be for every little thing. I mean solving recurring problems and the like. Not just, "Hey--I rped good".

I fully agree with this. *random fluff which makes this post look bigger than it really is* To each his own, who deserves something by exemplary performance/behavior, a reward is logical.

I still dont think it would work like the community wants it too.

its kind of like the whole concept on US Corrections.

DA: hey guys we need to put this guy away for life...for "insert reason here"
Judge: sure...that sounds great the DOC will brainwash him straight.
DA: Yah...unfortunately it will cost tax payers 1.5 million a year till he dies...we just wont mentioin that.

seriously...we all know people are just gonna keep doing what they do, cuz they can...its like other games, why do hackers still get to hack?

cuz the game producers sell the source code, to the hack sites, to make hacks, which is really a subsidiary company of said game company, and players who buy hacks, and buy ingame stuff...get off scot free.

Disco has really gone down hill since .84 and lots of ppl see it, so if you sit back, and look at this impartially, is offering a xxxxxxxxxxAmt of credits, or special stuff, or whatever, really gonna solve the problems our server is having or is it gonna make it worse.

I say OUR SERVER, cuz even though igiss and the other admins fund stuff, and make it work, in 4.84 there used to a be a real ....feeling of loyalty, and dedication to our RP, and we prided ourselves in being a close nit group, Now we just blast everything and anything...so is this really what we want our server to go to?

I mean seriously i thought IEP's got left behind in school, i didnt know that game servers had to make IEP's for special players.....
