Would your encounters be from a trader, lawful or unlawful point of view? It's easiest to capitalise on what's going well and improve whats not when you know what is actually going well:P
' Wrote:The idea is pretty sound, and it does seem about the right time for an old 'gang' to try to start to come together again with the war and other pressing matters of the Crown. They would like to operate just under the radar and not draw the ire of the Crown, due to past history. I could see several cases that a BAF or BPA fighter was in over his or her head in a battle with a Corsair or other enemys or the Crown and get bailed out by a Buccaneer or vice versa:
After Action Reprt:
CO: Lt, How did you take out a GB when your report states that your SNC and half of your weapons were knocked out?
Lt.: Sir, it was a lucky shot sir.
CO: You sensor log shows the presense of a Buccaneer in the area and the rest of the log was damaged somehow?
Lt. : Sir, weeeeelll I kind of had some help with the Corsair at that point, Sir.
CO: You didn't arrest said Buccaneer?
Lt.: I saw no reason to sir, I really didn't see him do anything wrong sir. He kind of saved my rear Sir.
Want to bring this up. It actually happened the OTHER way around yesterday when it was just me fighting Three Rogues and an Outcast bomber, after Catalina was destroyed, after Stoat was destroyed, and after the Captain himself was destroyed. QCP and BAF decided to jump in and help me.
End results in me going "Ah....right." and leaving to Trafalgar unharmed by BAF/QCP.
Just gotta say I'm still liking what I'm seeing from you all. The running away as soon as the law, or anyone that might be associated with the law, shows up is great.
And that furball in Leeds was nuts! I'm still trying to work out why I was daft enough to get involved in a fight with that many Barghests and assorted others. No wonder I ended up in hospital!
Im not a fan of your 'only accept credits policy'. Rag tag pirate group or not, if as you say, your just getting into space from a planet then you'll need materials as much as credits. "2mill or you die" wont endear you to the server as much as " 50 tonnes of your cargo or you die". You wont make as much granted but having been pirated on numerous occasions i always feel cheated if someone in a bomber steals my credits, whereas i atleast feel as sense of fair play when someone takes cargo instead.
An example of this: I was shipping Iridium through Bretonia when i was stopped by some Mollys, they then convinced me fly to Belfast Station instead of my intended target. In effect theyd hijacked my entire cargo and diverted it to their cause. Now there is more room for more interaction rather than me simply losing credits if i go near them, i can use that incident to develop RP.
Pirates shouldnt only take credits, its lazy RP and leads to traders trying to avoid you (me and everyone else will start looking for you on the players list and avoiding you) rather than looking forward to some RP.
Also with the ship line, i think slimming it down and then expanding it as you become more reknowned and more of a fixture on the server would be more in keeping with a group that has just set out to space.
Final thing, the posts about you being new and 'acting like you own the place' have some merit i think. Number 7 in the bucs code could be better worded.
On the whole though i think its a great idea for a faction. Good backstory, a clear goal, interesting RP to be done with the Mollys. I look forward to escaping from you in the future:)

I find that kind of ironic, really, as when I'm on the Bloodwing, I typically demand cargo until my hold is full, then switch to credit piracy. We've got a few others that are working on doing cargo piracy, too.
We make more use of cargo piracy than many other pirates I've seen. Often we'll ask for credits (also generally less than 'the going rate'), then if the trader says he can't pay we'll take a load of cargo instead, though generally only enough to fill our hold(s).
And as for the ships, our options really aren't as broad as they appear. Civilian + Border World ships, with the addition of the Pirate freighter/transport/train.
Where the heck do I sign up? This is made of pure win! And I don't see how this is an "Import Faction",
just because it's a bunch of pirates without a cause but to plunder and pillage and who's leader happens to be named Henry Morgan?
