Last time , I was playing with my friends and a patrol of Kusari navy crashed directly into planet Honshu.

It was very entertaining to watch a battleship kill itself!

Happens all the time, and everywhere. Planet Cambridge, Manhatten, so on. Dunno what causes it? Any folks know?

That's called glitching Elsdragon. And if you do it, (not that I don't like you because you tend to be disapproving all my ideas or anything but that's what I'd say to anyone, even myself) you should stop it because it can be considered as cheating in many games.

What Elsdragon is saying generally isn't a problem here, from what I've seen. It's caused by a bad patrol path, it happens at every house capital planet.

It was happening in Vanilla Freelancer. Always entertaining to see Transports exploding into manhattan.

It is probably caused since they are in a locked formation.

Hmmm, why canadians are the only to have a sig image.

I wasn't saying he was going to be sanctioned or whatever. I'm not an admin.

I meant that it's very close to cheating and if he's a good player he shouldn't do so or give anyone the good idea of doing so

And it should be a rule. (Bugs found in game should be reported immediately and should not be used to the players advantage.) It's not the kinda rule that you can really enforce except when a player reports a glticher but having the rule makes a difference.

Nothing wrong with taking advantage of that little bug.

After all, you won't make that much money.

And that's a little bug that would be well near impossible to fix, since it's rooted in basic NPC behaviours, and the only way to fix it would be to move the spawning zone away from the planet, defeating the entire purpose.

Has anyone stopped to consider the possibility that the pilots of those vessels are committing suicide? having either failed in their duties, became disillusioned with their lives to the point that death is the only way out, or are attempting to poison the atmosphere of the planets (Molly's dirty Mox bomb scenario).

As for taking advantage of a situation, I do recall a Synth rep telling Trent that very same thing "you'd do well to take advantage of the situation", so it's built into the game, the same scenario applies to damaged ships, pirates who disrupt trade lanes, or who try to steal your cargo. One of the bounty hunters also tells Trent to pick off lone pilots ( pirates ) and a Corsair tells Trent the same about killing Zoners.

That's part of what Freelancer is about, ie; Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
