Would the restrictions on ship usage as indicated by IDs ever be reconsidered for an official faction?

For example, could a well thought-out and well-RP'd faction of independents (Freelancers, Mercs) ever be permitted to contract factions they had good relations with for the construction of capital ships? I.e. Would a faction of Freelancers with strong ties to IMG ever be permitted to fly IMG gunboats, destroyers, cruisers, or carriers?

The thought struck me seeing as some factions that already have their own capital ships seem to have fairly independent backgrounds. For example, the Zoners, who as I understand are basically a conglomeration of Freelancers, have their own capital fleet, some of which, according to their tooltip, were constructed by the IMG.

So, would a RP-responsible/long-standing faction of independents ever be permitted to operate ships above gunboat class?

Thanks for any straight answers or theoretical discussion on this topic.

Likely possible, but you would require Special RP requests and IDs for each of the capital ships larger than gunboats.

Nothing in the mod is set in stone pretty much.
If the entire community started RP'ing a plague wiping out most of humanity, the mod would develop that way eventually.

Get that freelancer etc group going, work at it for a while and do the roleplay behind the construction of these ships and the build up of resources etc.
Basically, do everything that the vanilla factions had to do themselves. You might just find it easier.

Special Operative ID is used for ship classes that are beyond the scope of original ID. To get that admin approved ID requires forum RP and a Special RP Char application. If approved the Special Operative ID is given. It doesn't contain much in rules except for one very important point: The owner of the Special Operative ID must comply with the rules of the ID that matches the characters chosen IFF.
The forum RP and the intended purpose of the character is what will take a lot of thought and responsibility respectively, admins approved ID's are not candy. Took me and my faction months of consideration and had many talks about it that eventually I had enough to organize together something applicable.

Edit add: Hope this helps
