Does the Nomad power cell you get from a wreck do anything?

Seems like all you can do is sell it for 1million

Can it be used on a ship or anything like that?

Seen One for sale on the Stock Exchange and the bid is currently 25mil

All I know about them is that they are a role-play item, with the idea that it gives increased shield and weapon power with more power to fire weapons with.
