It was a picture perfect day on Gran Canaria. The sun was out, not a cloud in the sky and the air was dry and comfortable, a most perfect day for a double wedding at the Tombstone Estate.
The round garden of the Estate was decorated for the occasion with the many favors and decor. A kneeling bench was set up in front of the Buddha statue in the center of the garden that Midori so often worshiped at, her brother's picture standing guard over it.

The invited guests chatted with each other as Midori was just making her way from her dressing room. The guest list was huge, including several dignitaries. Chairman Mal of the TAZ, Mr. Sam Nichols of the Omicron Supply Incorporated, Chancellor Gorkon and Commander Matok were present for the local Klingon contingent, Elder Miguel Sephardi of the Corsair Brotherhood and the leadership for the Order group Ronin were but a few. Attending Zoners were numerous including Malcolm Reynolds, Mr. Charles M. Burns, Mama Dis and the crew of the Zen Clipper, both of the TAZ, Reisiger Duke and Sparticus Weepiglet of the Omicron Supply Incorporated. Also present was the crew of the Planophore II. For all unable to attend, it was transmitted by video cast.

The conversations amongst the guests came to a stop as Miss Midor Sato appeared from the front door of the Estate into the garden's entrance under the escort of her parents, Kenji and Mikiko Sato. She was dressed in a traditional white Kimono wedding gown and a bouquet of Chrysanthemums. As she was so well known for, her smile was brighter than the Canarian sun. At the bench, Kenji and Mikiko stepped to one side and allowed John to take her too the bench where they stood before a Shinto priest. At his instruction, the couple knelt side by side.

"Greetings, John, Midori, family and guests on this most joyous of occasions," he began, "Let us begin."
A cup of Saki was poured and handed to John who then drank half of it. He then handed it to Midori who finished it. An attendant then took the cup and the priest began his blessing.
"John and Midori, may the Gods present here today guide you both. May they give you wisdom, strength, patience and knowledge to prosper and grow together and love one another. Look to those gathered with you in times of need and never forsake one another. This I pray in the name of Buddha," sermonized the priest.
Then, each guest was given a cup of Saki as was the couple. John and Midori faced each other as did the guests in attendance. With a brief toast, they drank to each other. As they finished, the priest turned and spoke to Malcalypse, "Your invocation, Sir." Malcalypse nodded his thanks and kept it simple, "Eris blesses you both. Congratulations."

With that, the priest continued as Reggie and Moira began their walk to the bench. John and Midori stepped aside, arm in arm, now guests themselves for the moment. Reggie and Moira began their ceremony with a drink of Saki as well. As the religions present were similar, they agreed to the Shinto ceremony. Reggie drank half the Saki and then handed it to Moira who finished it. Then, the priest again gave his blessing.
"John and Midori, may the Gods present here today guide you both. May they give you wisdom, strength, patience and knowledge to prosper and grow together and love one another. Look to those gathered with you in times of need and never forsake one another. This I pray in the name of Buddha," he repeated as had before.
Then, another round of Saki was poured. Reggie and Moira then drank to each other and the guests to them. Malcalypse then gave his brief invocation, "Eris blesses you both."

Also, rings were exchanged by both couples.

Then, the couples stood facing their guests as each had a chance to say a few words of their own. Words of congratulations and a few individual blessings were given. Once finished, the priest then finished.

"John and Midori, Reggie and Moira," he began, "by the powers invested in me by the church of Buddha, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."

"Mrs. Holliday," John said with a smile, "If I may."
"You may, Mr. Holliday," Midori replied, smiling through some tears of joy. They then embraced and kissed.

Reggie and Moira did the same but said nothing before they did. There story was much longer and very different and for them it was relief to finally be together. Malcalypse then spoke up.

"Now, all of you head over to Sophie's Canaria Cafe for a big reception. A live band is waiting so that these folks can have their first dance." The guests then began making their way to available transportation to the cafe. But before John and Midori could leave, Kenji Sato and John had a moment together on a different level.

"John, it is customary for a bride's father to give his new son something," he explained, "I have something I want you to take."
He then turned for a moment to take something and then turned back. In his hands was a katana in it's sheath of Kusari military design. Midori immediately recognized it and placed her fingers to her mouth as she tried to contain her grief.
"This sword was the sword of my late son, Kentaro," Kenji explained, "I wish for you to take it, keep it and preserve it's honor."
John took the sword in his hands, pulling it out about half way from the sheath. It was highly polished and extremely sharp. The sheath was adorned with a pearl inlay and a silk knot. Sliding it back in, he then bowed to Kenji, "it will have a special place in both my home and my heart." Kenji bowed back.

Then, John returned the exchange, pulling a gold pocket watch from a small pouch in his pocket.
"This was my father's watch," he explained, "it is of gold and keeps time as good now as it did back when it was made back in the Earth year 1836. You will see the date inscribed on the face. A couple of quick winds each day and it will serve you well."
Kenji looked at it and was mesmerized by what was truly an antique. Again, the two men bowed. John then turned to the picture of Kentaro that stood guard at the garden statue and bowed to him as well.

"Mrs. Holliday," John again spoke to his bride, "we mustn't be late for our own party.
''Bad form indeed," she answered smiling as she took his arm. With no place to put the sword on his person, John placed it on a display rack with it's waskasazi mate in his western room. Together, John and Midor, Reggie and Moira, left for the reception at Sophie's.

Congratulations you four. Was a nice ceremony. Im sure you'll be very happy together.

I took a picture of everyone before they went to Sophies for the reception.

"I love what you've done with the place, Reggie, but it definitely is ready for a woman's touch!" said Mal as he followed the newlyweds into the reconstructed main house of Veranda Incognita.

The three, along with other TAZ members who had attended the wedding had returned to the Veranda to change into their "party clothes" before heading to Port Canaria.

"Aye," said Moira. "These little robots scurryin' about may keep the place clean 'n organized, but they've no bloody clue what a true home should feel like, Episkopos. Give me a week 'r two, and this dear man Waverly will actually want t' be comin' home instead o' hangin' about with his crew on that Geisha!"

Mad John Rackham had been busy at the sidebar. He turned around with a tray full of Waverly's own Blue Sapphire and tonics, and said "Right then, a private little toast to our newest and prettiest TAZ Member before we mosey down to Sophie's."

The guests raised their glasses to Moira and Reggie in turn, and shouts of "Kallisti!" echoed through the vast rooms and hallways of Veranda Incognita.

"I don't think Eris will mind if she's not "the Prettiest One" on this day.." Malaclypse mused.
