I kind of like the Jackal Wing idea. Guerrilla warfare has always been my style anyway. However, I would only support this type of action if it does not bring greater threat to Yanagi Depot, which is a possibility. I'm already moving to continue our support for the GC, I'd like them to become more visible in this whole affair as visible is one thing we should not be in Kusari. Remember, we are not going to war with a house or even trying to take on a house, just assisting those who are.

In my opinion we should support the Bretonians with everything we can. It's essential that they gain the upper hand in the Kusari-Bretonia conflict. The Kusarians may leave Yanagi alone for now, but that will change if they won't be distracted by the war. Our convoys should double their efforts, so the BAF won't be short on supplies. Also a few pinpoint attacks made by the best junker pilots could make some difference. Because now we're not just "outlawed" but openly hunted by the lawful forces of Kusari, this is the least we can do.

Course 2: Retaliation

A sidenote for the choice: The squadron should avoid random fights at all costs, hit them fast, hit them hard and disappear before any counter-attack could be organized.

Greetings--Select individuals known to you can privately vouch for my identity but for security reasons neither I nor they will be revealed here.

I am responding in this session as I wanted to be certain all ramifications of these proposed actions are considered. If the Congress sponsors select members to act as a strategic military wing there are inevitable repurcusions. If at any time enemies of Junkers publicly establish that any action by this force is sponsored by the Congress, it will lose its neutrality in those issues and in fact be suspect in all subsequent stikes and actions by other Junkers.

If independent Junkers take actiion in future, then the Congress can always be "accused" even if not involved. The taint and suspiscion will be permanent. No matter the intent, if at any time it is discovered the Congress sponsors covert military operations directly with its own forces that it supports and provides, it will no longer be seen as a primarily political faction but instead as a military one.

Using the Kusari situation as a hypothetical example, imagine some of the possible consequences:

1. The Zoners would have to distance themselves from any direct support as they cannot side against a house.
   
2. The Hogosha could appeal to the Corsairs to embargo the Congress from the artifact trade.
   
3. Relations with the IMG could be damaged and cut off supplies of their equipment.
   
4. The Congress would be identified as an ally of Bretonia, damaging its trust with criminal groups.
   
5. Gallic factions could view such actions with grave concern that could affect Gallic Junkers and relations with the Council or Monarchy and their allies.
   

As a known, public and accepted political group in Sirius, strong responses will be evoked. This will not be seen as a case of a handful of independents attacking but of a faction sponsored war group. It will also pull forces from the standning members of the Congress and weaken its defense of its own assets--unless these forces will publicly defend it...bringing us back to the hypothesis above.

Exercise caution in this decision. We have established a small independent force with no ties or direct affiliation to any single Junker group. Its members are independent and bear the consequences of their actions alone. It is at the disposal of all Junkers. If the Congress goes ahead with the formation of the Jackal group for use in house and strategic conflicts and wishes to bear this burden, I will instruct our members to join it if they wish. If the concerns above seem relevant, we can work in conjunction with your needs--offf the books and covertly.

I apologize for the delay. Jack was "upgrading" our comm systems. And by that I mean he took them apart to see what the insides looked like. At least that's the best I can figure.

In any case, I'm not sure aggression is the best move here. While it's true that war brings business, it's only good business if you're getting paid to support one or more of the sides. If it's the Junkers fighting, that's just going to cost money. Why do that when we can do something profitable ourselves?

The Hogosha and their artifact connections with the Corsairs could cause some backlash if we can't get some insurance on the matter. No, I'm not talking about IC, no matter how shady they are. We need to find a situation where we can get business partners to protect our interests. The first thought is if that these Gaian types are suddenly clamoring for artifacts. If we could get a strong deal, that would improve our relations, first of all, and be a kick in the face to those dirty farmers. Then if the Hogosha try and get the Corsairs to stop selling, we drive a wedge right down the center of their friendship, giving us time to make up for it.

The GC are a good angle in Kusari, and we should keep supporting them as much as possible. With that in mind, though, there may be some additional options. Rumor has it that chaos is afoot with those Colonials and their diplomacy. Maybe we could throw a wrench in their gears and get them and the Kusari angry at each other? That'd keep them out of our hair and give those Tokyoites something to worry about.

I hear those Wild are causing a ruckus in part of Kusari, as well as down in the Omegas. Maybe we can get those Order to focus primarily on that southern thread, helping our shipping near Bornholm while causing more chaos in Kusari? Obvious not enough to cause problems beyond their borders, but enough to hurt.

I'm sure there are some other options, too, of these sorts and those are what we should focus on. We should work with our strengths. Why fight these fools if we can get others to do the same? Especially if the others will pay for weapons to do so?

The thing amidst all this is that we are already loosing money, forcing us to take longer routes to avoid its stationed battleships and whatnot. Time is money after all , right? With Kusari overtaking most of the Taus and even part of Leeds , our movement into Outcast space has been somewhat restricted. And with Kusarians preety much killing us on sight , I could not possibly stand idle as more of our brethren get slaughtered. If we manage to divert atention from the frontlines and into their own territory, Bretonia may be able to overtake some of their territory, providing us with at least some more freedom and expanding our turf. If Bretonia wins this war , that would be the perfect oportunity to gain a foothold in Kusari.

If we can not deal with Kusari , we can at the very least supply Bretonia. Make money and retaliate.

I agree with Andrew here, we are already losing money 'cos of the kusarians. Imagine what would happen if they actually win the war!
Let's consider the gains and loses we can have from the Bretonia-Kusari conflict, aside from pure profit:
-Kusari wins: We can easily lose our "safe haven" in Bretonia. Even Trafalgar will be in be directly threatened by the invader kusarians. We now can operate "freely" in 3 of the 4 houses' systems. That would be reduced to 2.
-Bretonia wins: Our territory could expand to kusari space since they would be weakened by the lost war. I shouldn't comment the gains there i trust that you can imagine it.

The risk is high, we have much to gain also much to lose.

Now to answer the "unnamed" man's message:

Since when can we call ourself neutrals when we are constantly attacked by most of the kusari lawfuls and unlawfuls and the bretonians did outlawed the bounty we had on our heads?

We are neutrals in the Liberty-Rheinland conflict, in the Outcast-Corsair conflict, and dozens of other conflicts.
But not in this one. Still what i proposed is NOT openly attacking the kusarians, (while we could also do that since they already hunt us), just some pinpoint attacks to weaken them so the bretonians will have some space to breathe and gather their forces. And again the connection between the Jackal wing and the Congress doesn't exist publicly.

We are a political faction that's true, but a political faction cornered into some systems doesn't have much word.

Before i continue the post: We are NOT openly supporting the bretonians.

About the "five points":
1. The Zoner's are neutrals to everyone, no need for them to distance themself from us.
2. They are welcome to try, the neutrality with the corsairs is profitable to them as much as it is to us. I see no reason why that would change. By the way how would that change our relationship with anyone if we covertly take actions against those who publicly hunt us?
3. Again why? 'Cos we want to strike back on those who see us as punchbags?
4. This is a reaction to the Kusari actions against the junkers especially against the Congress. If the criminal groups will think we can't defend our bases and ships how long will it take before someone gathers enough courage and force to strike on us? An opponent without defense is charming, really. Again and again i must mention that we are NOT allied with bretonia, we just have to make sure that the war ends in a profitable way to us. To be outlawed in more house systems would be anything but profitable.
5. Do you really think kusarians would make an exception when meeting with a Gallic Junker and greet him/her with open arms? Well i think not.

If you're right and we'll see that diplomatic problems will rise from this, then we'll try to handle them, i can promise nothing more or less. I can assure that we are not looking for more enemies, we just to make sure the current ones will atleast stagnate on strength or will get weakened, otherwise the future would be a dark one for us i can tell ya! About the recruitment part: i think it should be discussed at another time.

An answer to Mr Thompson: You have some point there, but what about using everything we can against our enemies?

Way I see it, we stick with the old adage. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." We have to keep Kusari divided. If we and the Outcasts can get those Chrysanthemum girls and the Blood Dragons enough support, they can cause some major headaches for the Naval Forces and Hogosha. Enough, perhaps, to give the Bretonians enough slack to squash them.

I vote we stick with what we're doing. Throw support behind the GC, build up relations with the GMG, aid the Bretonians as much as we can (though not enough to be suspicious). Hell, maybe even try to bring the Gaians around to the Bretonian cause.

It's all a matter of finding the right spot and applying the right amount of pressure. Keep Kusari divided.

Indeed we are living throught one of our darkest periods. The bounty situation, the KNF attacks on our ships cannot longer continue. As been said in above statments, we were never neutral with the kusarians lawfulls. We always did a covert, under the table war against them. Our support to the honorable dragons and to the great Golden Chrysanthenums was a way for us to put a foot on their territory. And we all know that it wasnt just about the money, it was to get them to do our job at the first place.
When i see our ships and pilots getting killed i wont stand down and say its just politics. Its war my friends open and declared war and we cannot just stay low and wait it will dissapear.
Now my friends, we can make a bigger difference here. We can strike them hard, and where it hurts. Hogosha are in command of the Kusarian empire, the emperor is their pupet, and we can really make a difference to the better. We may not be the best fighters but we know where we can strike and when because of our big intel network we have there.

So i vote YES on decision 2, activate Jackal Wing and continue our convoys to our friends there.

That being said i must say that a widder involment needs to be made. We need to continue to supply Bretonia warfare with what we can beause we cannot loose that house. We need their money has they need us.
Sigma 13 and the Yanagi situation. We may be able to do a deal with GMG has they are personnas non gratas with the kusarian also to protect not only Yanagi but all Sigma 13 of kusarian war ships. Reminds that this deal cannot be open publicite because of the Rheinland goverment may not like us to have deals with the GMG.
Concerning the corsairs i m not worried because they need our food and its not the Hogosha pigs that will provide that to them.
Concerning other houses, if we continue to do what we have done so far i dont see any reason to not strike the Hogosha. The gallic junkers may be glad because we are weakning one of their enemies.
Ah, and we still can make a lot of money in this. I dont see how we can loose more money than we already did.

Question yourselfs where did all our convoys gone? What happened to make this happen?

This isnt a heated head talking but a proud congressman, like yourselfs, that is seeing our pride being thorn appart.

So i hope that you Arbiters that an action role and give back to us the pride we used to own.
