Perhaps it was made out of an old heavy tanker, converted into a pirating ship =P

Anyways, for stats this is what I'd give it:

2 forward firing turrets (stuck in forward only arcs, those are the hardpoints up on the deck - they'd be able to fire up and slightly down as well, but not much to the left or right).
5 turret hardpoints on each side which are limited to side-only firing arcs with roughly 15 degrees of movement in any direction.

The most firepower it would have at any one time is 5 turrets, when broadsiding a target. It would have no turrets that can fire straight up or down, and no turrets that can fire backwards - basically the thing is going to be completely vulnerable to bombers, groups of fighters, and any other capships. It's meant to beat the life out of transports, not combat ships.

All turret hardpoints would be gunboat-grade, and I'd give it a light cruiser powerplant. Because of the limited firing arcs, you want to be able to put out the hurt when the enemy is within your firing range - and that'll probably mean spamming pulse and razor turrets. Just imagine having this ship roll up alongside a transport and unleashing a hailstorm of 5 razor turrets constantly firing... it'd be easy to manuver out of the way of his firing arcs, but if you dont manuver quick enough you're going down.

Other equipment:
Double CM's (on engine hardpoints)
Thruster (transport/gunboat speed)
Cruise Disruptor (cant pirate without one)

Overall ship size would be roughly the same as the rogue destroyer/cruiser, or a liner. Yes, it's big, but it's meant to be. Manuverability would be about the same as a light to medium cruiser.

100,000 Armor
Transport-Grade Shields
500 bats/bots
3500 Cargo Space

Too overpowered...

I can mount 5 missiles on that cruiser powerplant and they dont really give two ****s about firing archs, they track.

Two CM's? Too much even for its size.

TCD? Shouldn't be used for solo pirating.

Gunboat missiles are ineffective unless you can add your ship's speed to their inate projectile speed. That can only be done if you're thrusting in the same direction as you're firing. So... this thing could effectively use two missiles from the forward-only turrets (though it'd turn so slow you'd be lucky to fire at even the largest bombers), but you wouldnt be able to fire them effectively from the side-only turrets.

I like the model well enough, I just dont think it looks like a pirate ship at all. If it was an old something that was converted it should look far more worn down.

Also, there is already the pirate transport, i dont think there needs to be another.

In terms of another gunboat crossover, we already seem to be having enough trouble with the salvager, and one ship is not suppose to be able to do it all. Honestly I dont really want to see big pirate ships going around that have the weapon and storage capacity to solo cargo pirate traders. I dont think it would happen in RP (not with full size gunboats so readily available) and I think it will only add to the craziness in liberty right now. Now, if you wanted to introduce a ship like this and take away the pirate gunboat, that i would be fine with as this seems like something more feasible for pirates to be able to build than a high powered, military grade gunboat anyway. But this is kind of a general problem with discovery, every faction gets high power ships even if they wouldnt have them in RP....

It actually looks very Gallic, especially the engines and the ridge along its back, very GRN-ish.

On second thought, would this be classed as a gunboat or cruiser? or a new in-between class?

Right....errr, at this point, what does the ship (in terms of balanvcce between armor, cargo and size) differ from, say, the Pirate Transport.

well, here it is redone with gallic council textures, makes it look more rusty... could just be used as a transport instead of a pirate ship, maybe a gallic metal service heavy tanker:

And here's something to show the firing arcs. For the two deck hardpoints on the top of the ship, I dont have exact numbers since they were estimated/eyeballed. The hardpoints along the sides of the ship have a 45 degree rotation forward or backward, and roughly a 10-15 degree rotation up or down.

Indeed, now it looks more like a council ship, Ten. Maybe for a Rogue/Molly liner, simply take the existing train models, glue them together, one in-front of the other, then another row on-top, take off the back sides, the engines, slap on two Dessie engines and a gunboat's bridge.

Rogues dont design new models, they make use of what they have and slap it together.

Add some sloppy things, cables, pipes...such.
