Well the thing is that if you got enough bats/bots and got a death wish you go to sun entering "hard to pronounce word" and you use hull bats okay youre withing 500meters of the sun and you get to 0 and you just get jammed like sun has shield of some sort, I know this isnt like a fixable or something but could you atleast make the entering "hard to pronounce word" thingie to give double damage to the hull, because this is so unrealistic.

I loled.

Sun corona?

I'm loling so hard right now.

Although, when I see a bright light, I normally steer away from it. Don't feel like my blood boiling.

You mean the corona?

Odd you made it so close to a star, I suppose you fly something bigger than me:)
I believe increasing the damage done by the corona could be an option, but then, I fail to see the point. Why would anyone want to fly towards a sun? It's the same as saying it's unrealistic that big ships bounce off the surface of planets.

depends on the sun and on your ship.

for example - you ll have a hard time to planetdive / sundive in a zoner juggernaut or a barge

they are too large, you don t get their "vulnerable point" close enough to the stellar body. ( which doesn t mean that the radiation will cause you a nice repair bill though )

but there are some planets that have a HUGE death zone. - so it really depends on the system.

you think thats a bug?? fly to the star in omicron Major. no damage at all. you just run into it at about 200m.....

oh, and you can fly to the edge of the "ground" there and go underneath. pretty anti-climactic though....

Well ... if you want to die tell someone to kill you ... i managed once to bump sun and bounce back with my roc ... but didn't managed to come out alive ... i used cruise speed , engine kill ... i was out of bb and all after a fight i was damaged badly ... and sun was closest ....:D... i think its realistic for now ... those battleships are made to survive large impacts ... different stuff ... weapons mortars ... who knows what else ... little sun (in some cases smaller then BS:D) should hurt bs much

Yeah, capships have enough hull points to shrug off the damage from a star, tried it myself in SP.

Considering that planet atmospheres and sun coronas were designed to kill fighters only they could probably use a buff in damage to kill caps as well.

EDIT@above: You know how hot a sun gets? Really bloody hot.

EDIT2: Looked it up, our sun is 10,000o Fahrenheit, or 5500o Celsius or 5774o Kelvin. That is hot enough to melt a planet.

Ah ... well ... maybe its not real but ... i think developers have important things to do ... i don't know ... who knows ...

Edit: Ah well your right ... we all should be melting in that thing ... but do you have any info what Mortar does? ... never mind ...

That means when you accidently go too much into the Sun Corona on a fighter, it'd be instant death...would be funny, but annoying.

yeah well damage kicks in a bit after the warning comes up, and that's not that big of a deal since it's instant death in a few of the vanilla ships anyways.

Shouldn't be to hard to avoid it, and autopilot avoids it for you unless you're formed on someone.
