After getting familiar with this new feature I have changed my opinion - got no unusual disconnections so far.

A trader 'cloaked' and came back pretty fast.
Same with a guy who thought it is funny to 'cloak' in Gamma - everyone around was informed and had prepared a warm welcome when he came back.
So I think it is a good idea.

Ok, I want this thread to stay on topic now. A lot of posts were invissed due to being about weapon dealers and their practices. This is not a thread about weapon dealers, this is a thread about the new changes made. Now. If you wish to discuss wepaon dealers being unfair, or whatever, then make a thread about it. I don't want to see it here unless it DIRECTLY relates to the topic itself, which most of those posts didn't

I hope thats clear enough.

Baltar, nothing is out of control. There was a warning about it earlier in the thread, which you didn't see or something...

And back into player mode to respond to this...

' Wrote:EDIT: The notable exception to the 'annoyance' as I described it, is Nuclear Devices. I'm going to be giving that commodity an especially wide berth, since I don't really want to run the risk of losing, what, 20 millions worth of cargo on a disconnect.

Yeh... I've had a few problems with that already. The problem is the best buying location is very near a large and deadly minefield. Now before the new changes were made, I disconnected there with 20mill's worth of nukes in my hold and crashed into the mines. That gets expensive after a while, and would make the commodity less and less attractive to trade with.

I'm not entirely sure on the whole workings of this yet, just a few clarification:
If you F1/disconnect when nobody is within 5k, however, somebody then travels into that 5k before you disappear, you would still lose the cargo?

I already thought of this question, and Cannon said that it immediately searches for other players when you first disconnect, not when your ship disappears. Not a problem.

Plus, your ship logs out after only like 10 seconds now, rather than 2 minutes.

Not everything I said was off topic.

EDIT: Ok Joe ... just scanned through all 16 pages of this thread. It seems I'm the only person who's been affected by this post removal. There's plenty of discussion on arms/weapons dealers starting at post #110 all the way through page 15. Thanks for giving n00bl3t the last word ... directed AT me on the subject of weapons dealers by the way. You guys have split threads before ... why not now? I did not bring up the subject of weapons dealers. If you go back far enough my first comment in this thread was post #109 where I voiced my approval of this new tool. The post immediately AFTER my post started this entire discussion.

My post has been blanked.

Start a new topic on the subject yourself if you want to.

(Hopefully that appeases the masters of on-topic.)

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

' Wrote:Eh ... doesn't matter anyway ... nobody listens to my opinion anyway. Its like I'm talking to a brick wall. Funny though how all sorts of off-topic items are coming up ... nukes for example. What does this have to do with the Anti-F1 tool ... other than concern of losing 20 mil?

We did go off-topic.

Arms Dealers and Nuclear Devices are on topic.

Going further into the RP aspects, price of codenames and how hard it is to get them as well as the RP, or lack of it, depending on your viewpoint, of Arms Dealers adheres to Rule 25 and 26.

Warning were issued and supposedly ignored, then posts were deleted.

Stop bickering.

Quite frankly, I F1 ships out behind capital planets all the time. It's standard procedure for me, and I have a large hold full of items that might not be the easiest to procure again. This prohibits that behavior, as it inhibits my ability to RP my ship according to both its infocard and its player-determined manifest.

^- A prime example of an on-topic post.
