At the insane Price now? Can we possible afford to Arm Every FL with Codies?
Or escorts. Can They pay Around 30-60 million for decent guns?

I do believe that Tachs Or Neuts are the most likely. Not that hard to make

I think that there should be a civvy version of every type of weapon. Also, they should be buffed to faction level. The way they are now, no one uses them. No one uses a Flashpoint, they just go use Vengeances or Splitters, or some other house faction gun, because the Flashpoint can't even compete with pirates. And civilian guns are generally used on transport escorts, which solely fight pirates.. They should be on-par with faction weapons if they have to fight them all the time.

Aren't corporate ships allowed to use local military/police hardware? I think that the tech chart allows Liberty corporations to use LN stuff.

The pervasive notion seems to be that Flashpoints are absolutely and irrefutably useless in practicality. Counter to this, I have used Flashpoints with great success with Griffins, Eagles, Camaras, and Ankis. What I mean to say is that in practice, Flashpoints are fine.

On the other hand, nearly all other weapons have a considerable edge over them. I have rarely felt this edge, but that might very well be because I fly highly agile ships in the vast majority of my PvP encounters. I imagine this edge is far more apparent when ships that are guaranteed to be hit -- such as bombers -- fight each other.

Following that, there is yet another counter-point. Civilians primarily use fighters over bombers, and the Griffin and Eagle are some very agile ships. Well-flown, they would not encounter any terribly inconveniencing difficulties while using Flashpoints.

That argument, on the other hand, might be an illegitimate mix of RP and PvP reasoning, which brings us to the topic of balance. Currently -- correct me if I am wrong -- Flashpoints are one of very few things in Discovery that are balanced based on RP reasons. I see no good reason, certainly not from a game design point of view, to keep the unaffiliated civilians in a shadow such as this.

On that note, I agree with much of what has been said so far. There should be civilian guns -- perhaps several, perhaps one of each type -- to compliment the Flashpoint -- which does not need buffing -- that is on-par with faction guns in terms of hard numbers.

I have heard some bring up the point, when discussing advantages of weapons, that some weapons may appear weaker when really they are just more energy-efficient. Not many people argue this point, but nonetheless I would like to note that energy-efficiency is one of the least important factors in the current PvP model of Discovery.

That is my opinion, at the moment.

We trade in rhineland. If we start packing Executioners and magna hammers, How would the RM take to that?

This got me curious as to how many of each weapon type are actually in Disco.....

I'll return to edit with the results once all 40k lines of the weaponequip.ini have been scanned and sorted out:P(See Below)

Total Available weapons for each type (this -is- across all levels)
Tachyon - 87
Laser - 80
Photon - 55
Neutron - 48
Particle - 41
Plasma - 37
Pulse - 29

Pulse Guns aside as those are simply shield killers which are already mostly civillian guns...

I would like to see a variety of types but if it came down to one added I'd suggest the Particle type since it's underused.
I also believe that the Civvy weapons should keep to being a notch lower than the power of faction guns but just a notch to satisfy RP. In the end it's the pilot's skill that determines that outsome when the opposing ships use the same class equipment.
