Didnt say we got it.. but we sure can RP it.. came from galia? new stuff huh? as you know you can carry like 50-75 pilots in a fighters bay.. there must be a way to explain how we do that.. i just gave one suggestion.

edit: i mean 50-75 NPC pilots

I'd say a VHF should be able to store only one pod. But at least one, lets try to strike a balance between RP and fairness.

If each took around 50 cargo space, most fighters should be able to hold atleast one
oh, and I just suggested the name Lifeboat, because, well an escape pod sounds like it can hold only one person

Military grade Lifeboats, in real life, can hold 20-50 people depending on the exact type
plus, I figure you want to get as many people off as fast as possible on a large ship, everyone scrambling for a whole bunch of one person escape pods sounds like a bad idea to me really

Well, that depends how alive you want them to be when you get back to base. My Rogue, for example has no problem stuffing 20 odd civilians into the hold of my Greyhound and leaving them there for a couple of weeks.

Maybe make them 100 each, so small time freighters could pick them up.

what would be even cooler would be if it triggered the spawn of several small NPCs called lifeboats of that faction that tried to escape.

I support the idea.

If we could maybe find a way to spawn a "Rescue ship" that comes in to pick up the "Lifeboats" after anything large than a Gunboat explodes but that might have to just be House factions. And from what I remember from Freelancer Vanilla there is an escape pod ship design in there somewhere looks sort of like a round cylinder with rockets on one end. Imagine the Halo:CE escape pod but Rounder.

Or just design a completely new one, Once again the Hale: CE escape looks most believable looking like a ship with small thrusters and no engine really. For crashing and landing not for flying to base at a fast rate.
