That's how I looked like at the end of a MTB marathon race (85km, with total ascend of 2100m), after I got lost once and had to replace the inner tube twice (because of defects). It took me almost 6 hours to complete but I survived and that counts...;)

Well after I replaced the factory brake pads with the Kool Stop ones I found out my current V-brakes perform very well even under wet/muddy conditions. So I haven't really had a reason to switch yet.

I see.

When I used to ride, my pads always became clogged when the rims picked up mud. Hence, I switched to discs because they were higher from the mud/water. (Still, they get dirty sometimes with mud spray.)
