Using Freeport No Fire Zone as a safety blanket against an enemy is considered to be a violation of the NFZ policy. Most Zoners absolutely loathe characters that break this rule. It's considered to be as dangerous as pointing a gun at a Freeport.

From rumors that I have read, that's what Bounty Hunter NPCs do in the Omicrons. Actually from a bit of Omicron Experience, it seems that's what the player population does.

You decided that Zoners made Cork possible, and maybe in the mod, that's true. But the TAZ, for instance, have never been a party to standing by and watching genocide happen. A zoner is not a zoner is not a zoner. Infocards take a backseat to actual players activities.

And for stuff like this - isn't this being prevented with such rulings? Just because the Zoners may not have factually made Cork possible, can the QCP, for instance, not be wrong? Just because someone is arrested for a crime doesn't mean they're guilty. It's the same idea. Many Bretonians feel the Zoners are guilty, regardless of the whole confused Cork situations.

Bottom Line, TAZ and other Zoners should decide their diplomacy, (as long as it is generally consistent with the mod); Not other players, not even ones acting in accordance with various mod infocards etc.

As far as what Elsdragon commented about the way things were written, it certainly does sound like you're saying if the Zoners say you're their friend, you're forced to be. And more importantly, isn't a warning like this thread saying that certain factions CANNOT choose their own diplomacy? It's a two way street - saying it's all on one side is shortsighted at best.

Hence the idea of a Council of Zoner thread, "Reporting : No Fire Zone Abusers".

It would address that.

Really, most people, Zoners and non-Zoners, hate that kind of abuse of a protected area.

The Zoners feel used, the non-Zoners, abused.

Sadly this NFZ created 10 times more trouble than it did good. I'll be a douche here and side with both sides a little. I have no problem with what QCP did, but the fact is that you guys have more direct Corsair than Zoner threats, like 24/7 in omega 3, Cambridge and leeds.

I don't know should this have been stopped like it was on the forums, probably not, but it's the one of the ways to deal with the issue. When no other suggestions are coming, any action is good, as long as it leaves space to cool off some heads.

Someone posted that corsair snippet about "taking out a zoner when noone is watching" and i think its a great thing.

If you want to enforce NFZ, do it alone with guards in front of freeports. Not with "you take picture then we'll vote and then we'll blah" because, the way I see it, if it's so important to you - protect it.

** But it's getting bit off topic. Since Admins issued this, the worst thing that parties could do is rebel against it. Try to talk it out and find the solution in order to prevent more good people from leaving this otherwise good game
