If you think that BS's needs a boost agianst bombers, NO. Unless you'll make BS restricted to player factions only.
Light bombers, they surely are not like fighters and are taken down by fighters none on one quite easy. Unless you dont know how to fly a VHF agianst bomber. SN is great anti-nab fighter weapon as one person from forum discribed in skype days ago.
My point is simple, somhow reduce the cap spam, and then we can think about cap-ship power agianst light bombers / heavy bombers / vhf and ect.
And for those who said fighters cant take bomber role... agian agian and agian.. 2 titans takes out a bc with enought skill.
What touches escort point, i Think the gun speed increase which is coming soon, will help to solve this problem.
Some people are more skilled,some are less,you can't compare everything with people's skills.
I say,strip all bombers their guns,maybe left just 2,3 make it fire SNAC as shield buster and torps for hull.
But balance those 2 so it doesn't become overpowered.

Make SNAC more as a shield buster,reduce hull damage.Make it drain more energy or reduce refire rate.
SNAC won't be able to be used as one shot kills,when shields are down.
Reduce a nova torps hull damage,make it bit faster,and increase a bit refire rate.Make hull damage as current snac has.
it still won't be able to be used as anti fighter weapon.
And it will be pure anti cap bomber.
Ehh,that's a lot of balancing,so I guess no one would like it,it would change some things in game.
In RP the SNAC is an anticapship weapon, why is it being used as a cureall against fighters and so often and well? (Someone's gonna justify this with skill again.)

That would effectively destabilize the fighter's ability towards every ship class, Gunboats LFs, etc.

It's hard considering the mechanics of FL, the combat system is way too plain, for anything stylish, it's either chase of be chased. And when you're chasing down ships with almost the same agility and size as you, with 2x the armor it's pretty difficult to stop them (from escaping 30k to the next base or killing their intended target.)
I'm probably going to get flamed horribly for this, but I have a small idea.
First, halve bomber turning speed. Yes, I know what you're thinking, this will make bombers uberweak and useless, but you haven't heard the second part of my suggestion.
Second, halve destroyer and BS projectile speed, and halve GB turn rate. This will mean that destroyers and BS will have a harder time against fighters, but will have the same chance against bombers. For a fighter however, this means that a bomber is a slow, easy to destroy target so as long as you have decent escorts, bombers will not be able to take out dessies and BS. Bombers, thanks to the reduced projectile speed of large caps and reduced turn rate of small ones, should have the same chance of victory, but will be torn apart by fighters, which is how people seem to think it should be.
To the friend who tells snac will kill with one shot anyway -> reducing bomber agility gives the fighter a chance to kill the bomber.
You cannot kill a bomber without missile spam / mine spam and razor spam with several passes while you can get killed with 1 shot and the bomber has almost the same agility with your fighter. Then WHY DO YOU NEED a fighter if its only a show off, useless craft?
People love to SNAC kill. Its relatively easy, faster, and blue messages fulfill the ego of many hearts. However, it also ruins many RP aspects of things as well.
I can imagine how slow the Barghest would be at half turning speed. xD

Fighters are already good at killing bombers, everyone who gets killed just isn't doing it right. You should learn to accept sometimes people are just going to be plain better than you. If I lose to a bomber I know it's cause I made a mistake, or I'm fighting someone really good.
Nerfing skill. Where does that get fun?
IMO we need to make Gunboats beat bombers by making Gunboats stronger. Make Fighters kill Gunboats, but Gunboats kill Bombers. Also make Cruisers and Battleships tear the crap out of Gunboats. Then we'll see something fun.
