I just got into trading today, and I pretty quickly earned enough credits to buy a new freighter. But I'm stuck between 2 choices:

Camara

Dromedary

The Camara has slightly less cargo space, but has alot of defense. The Dromedary has slightly more cargo space, can fit class 8 weapons, but has much less defense than the Camara and costs a bit more. Which one should I get?

The Camara is comparable to a flying pencil. I had a bit of trouble hitting one when in my Arrow, even. Mind that defense isn't really a concern in a freighter like that. Most people will just let it pass.

Though, speaking of that, a bunch of us with the ... uh... unusual names did try to get you earlier. We've been 'joke-pirating' (a few people have experienced it by now). I would really advise just cutting your engines if a pirate does try to stop you. Had we been interested in taking something off you (no-one really should be.... it was just a teensy ship), we'd have blasted you as you flew past. =P

Unless you have a specific purpose in mind I would go with whichever strikes you as more aesthetically pleasing, the overall difference in utility is pretty slight for freighters.

personally i prefer the dromedary to the camara cos its all vanilla-ish and looks COOL!!!

Yeah, I wasn't really sure what you were up to, but I wasn't going to stick around, haha. When I get stopped again I'll take your advice, thanks

Camara, it served me well and has a small profile, giving you a chance against high power NPC's, and CD's.

Well , the pencil ( Camara) was the one I used when I first started. But back then the Dromedary was still on its crappy vanilla stats, so ... yeah , I have no idea which one is best now...

The camara is much more usefull, especially with all the defense and small profile (And it's cheeeeaper!)

First time around get a Camara as its a damn fine ship. Very friendly for beginners & a great advert to pirates who want an easy mark. Only kidding.
I'll never fly one again as its wrong for my RP & I'll never work for Deep Space Engineering, unless its to rip off their payroll.

Don't they both suck? Why not get a proper transport? Well I'm sure theres folks willing to help newbies out. You want to trade, join a trade corp they will set ye up.
