' Wrote:You guys seem to have missed the point of the Council of Zoners. There is no 'single representative' that can make the decision on this case. The Council is a democracy. In a democracy, a formal message is sent to the entire body of government to be debated on until a consensus is reached. Then, once such a decision is made, the Council will direct a representative to offer the counter proposal, refusal, or agreement, as the case may be. QCP has a 'leadership' that can decide what they want and conduct diplomacy in a direct and quick manner.. They can have one person manage the entire process. The Council of Zoners cannot.
This seems more and more like QCP is doing whatever it can to make these negotiations fail. If you want the Council of Zoners to make ANY sort of decision on this, then you send a formal message to the Council. If you don't, then no decision can or will be made. Any blame would fall on QCP's shoulders as purposefully refusing to provide any sort of demands or offers to the Council of Zoners.
Suggestion: The CoZ elect a bloke to be the go between. The bloke takes proposals to the Coz, gets them voted on, takes them back to the 1 on 1 with the QCP rep.
And I think I'll adopt this proposal for dealing with the CoZ. Much easier on me.
Well, I sort of meant the CoZ elect one of their own to be the rep...but they can choose whoever it is they want to choose. Some CoZ reps to other groups would be absolutely brilliant...now I'm going to go feel dirty for working to make the zoners something they're not.
The Council of Zoners will have a representative chosen to deal with the issue, but not until an offer/proposal is received. We make them after we have something to use them for, not before. For legality purposes, fair play, and so people can't complain and say someone messed up what their proposal said, the people making them towards CoZ need to do so directly with a Diplomatic Matters post. Having the proposal in the CoZ thread only makes it harder, as there is so much posting and discussing in that thread that the proposal would be lost. In the Diplomatic Matters thread, only a few people will be posting, so the proposal won't get drowned. QCP will still be dealing with a single individual, but they still have to send a formal proposal to the Council of Zoners. Not to the representative. Once it's received, then we would choose someone to act as the representative.
Pay attention, Dab, the proposal has already been posted on the forums. And prior to that, it was the CoZ's representative who wanted things done on Skype, which is where the proposal was originally made, completely in-RP, and I was even nice enough to allow the Chairman to join in and observe. Not my fault if the CoZ then decides that they want to do things on the forums instead. And again, I'm nice enough to oblige.
I fully intend for the CoZ to be able to talk out things between themselves, but they should do just that: talk it out between themselves. Once they do that, their representative can come back and post in the negotiation thread. But the CoZ as a whole can keep the hell out, just like the rest of the QCP can keep the hell out. Only 1-on-1 in the diplomacy thread, otherwise it turns into nothing more than a clusterf**k.
Quit telling me not to speak for other factions. I'm not speaking for them. It is in our interest that other factions gain. Effectively, the QCP is holding a gun to the head of the Zoners, demanding that the Mollys, BMM, Bowex, Johnny Walker's distilleries and the wool trade all get money, since they like that idea.
They don't care if it embarrasses those that gain from it. You'll receive our help whether you like it or not.

Such a nice way to start talks, eh, Blunt? An old baseball analogy, "you want something, give something!"
I don't want to be but I can be more stubborn than anyone on this server. Trust me on that but I also use an open mind.
