The year was 720 A.S. The luxurious Outcast Yacht "Santisima Trinidad" owned by Don Marcello Cristo slowly drifted through the dark-green nebula of Omicron Theta. Apart from the regular commodities you could spot inside any vessel, Don Cristo was known for hosting a significant amount of slaves. Rumors has it that Don Cristo saw them as one of his prized item collections and had set out a personal mission to acquire slaves from all corners of Sirius. Some served for the purpose of pleasure whilst others were presented as a symbol of power and wealth. However, The Don was also known for being a ruthless leader among the Outcast nation and pilots that were positioned under him disliked his egoistical figure for many reasons. There had once been a report that mutiny had almost been erupted during a fleet-battle against the Corsairs which was lead by Don Cristo. That very fleet-battle had cost the lives of many brave Outcast pilots due to the unwise tactical decisions made by the leader.
During one of Don Cristo's regular Yacht cruises through the Omicrons another mutiny was in store, however this time, conducted by a different kind of people. Tired by the unfair treatments and horrible living conditions, the slaves aboard the Santisima Trinidad had rallied up in an attempt to hijack the Yacht. Their moment of opportunity occurred when the Luxury Yacht had accidentally collided with an asteroid causing serious problems to the navigation system. This unfortunate event escalated when the security system also failed to maintain on-line status. The few guards protecting the vessel stood no chance against the overwhelming numbers of the slaves and were simply overrun in a matter of seconds. The very last barricade set up by the remaining personnel which kept Don Cristo isolated from the blood-thirsty rebellion was teared down piece by piece until the only obstacle left was a table which The Don was sitting under. Terrified of what the furious mob would do to him, The Don took his own life by taking an overdose of Cardamine.
The majority of the slaves decided to immediately proceed to the nearest escape-pods in hope of being scooped up by a Zoner patrol or a trade-convoy. However, a handful stayed aboard the Luxury Yacht because they, had a more ambitious plan. Aroused by the taste of greed they wanted to take possession of the valuable assets in an attempt to radically change their miserable lives from being extremely poor to extremely wealthy. The remaining slaves aboard Santisima Trinidad formed a group calling themselves "The Family" promising to take care of each other as good family members would do. The problem was that sooner or later the Outcast would be searching for a missing Don and his vessel. They also ran the risk of being intercepted by Corsairs seeing as the Outcast Yacht was custom made and expressed a number of Maltese Cross symbols. Therefore their best chance of survival was to seek refuge with the Red Hessians disguising themselves as the real Outcast people of the vessel.
The slaves might have been forced to act as Outcasts in order to survive but they would never forget the horrible acts conducted by them. A certain hatred towards cardamine was also developed due to it hindering them from claiming vendetta on Don Marcello Cristo. Ironically enough, the slaves of the Santisima Trinidad were also dependent on cardamine for their own survival.
The Family Establishment
During the following years creating a mutual friendship with the Red Hessians by providing them with valuable goods exported from the Santisima Trinidad, their visit expanded into a permanent residing inside Vogtland Base. It was well known that Rheinland was a house that managed to keep the cardamine-influence at a minimum level which was further fortified thanks to the selected unlawful factions that operated in those systems. This in return could compromise the building alliance between The Family and the Red Hessians. Therefore The Family consumed cardamine in secrecy from the remaining stashes of the Santisima Trinidad. Additionally, the cardamine dependent slaves denied access to this drug to any new member who had decided to join The Family, knowing fully well of the consequences if it was further distributed.
In time, a new larger and more powerful organization was established. Ranks were introduced, business relationships were being developed and they received more influence on the Red Hessians. The individuals of the group who were high-positioned decided to create a family name, one that would act as a symbol of membership. That family name became The Smokeone.

The main source of income arrives from illegal activities such as gambling, smuggling and extortion.
Gambling
Mainly in the form of space-racing similar to the official ones conducted in the Dublin system provides the crowd with both entertainment and betting opportunities.
Smuggling
Any commodity besides slaves, cardamine and artifacts that produces money both fast and in huge numbers is something the Smokeone Family distribute to interested customers.
Extortion
Committed only against trade-convoys that are not allied to the Red Hessians. Extortion is always made in a witty manner suggesting to provide the victim with "protection" if they only pay a small sum of fee to the Family. Additionally, to really define the serious consequences of denying such a proposal a Family member always ends their last sentence with: "I will make you an offer you can't refuse, trust me."

Thanks to the wise decision made by the original slaves of the Santisima Trinidad, the newest generation of the Smokeone Family is not dependent on Cardamine in order to survive. The current Don is Don Fat Tony along with the active Consigliere, Fat Padrone.

The Smokeone Family mainly operates within the Rheinland House with the exception of aiding potential allies in the Omegas, specifically the Omega-5 system.
Smoke all the time, we are the Smokeones for a reason!
Always stay in-character in System/Local/Private* transmissions. (*When the situation demands it.)
Always refer Don Fat Tony as "The Don" as a show of respect and confirming his authority.
Take lessons from "Sicilian Mafia" style behavior, optionally grab wisdom from stereotypical Italian acting.
You are a gangster, but that dosen't mean you should go around and wave a flag that says
"I'M A CRIMINAL." Act smooth and try to avoid getting caught by lawful authorities unnecessarily. You are of course allowed to fight back if the situation at hand calls for it.

- Capo Crimi
Also known as "The Don" is both a symbolic and official leader of the Family. The Don has the final word on every matter and must be treated with the utmost respect.
- Consigliere
Also known as "The Adviser" is a close and trusted friend of The Don whose main job is to provide with advice in all important decisions made by the family. Additionally, he is responsible of representing The Don in important meetings both within their own family and other associates.
- Capo Bastone
Also known as "The Underboss" is effectively the second-in-command of the Family and his primary job is to ensure the Family business operates smoothly and is under control. If something lethal would happen to The Don, The Underboss is the first candidate to take over his position.
- Caporegime
Also known as "The Captain" is equivalence of the same military rank who leads a small band of Foot Soldiers to carry out Family Business whenever required.
- Piciotto
Also known as "The Foot Soldier" is a fully fledged member who acts as the muscle of the Family.

- Mietitrice
Also known as "The Lady Reapers". The Smokeone Family usually does not allow women to participate in the Family Business due to traditions. However, there are exceptions. A woman of the Family who happens to possess the right characteristics and skills to become a successful assassin will be offered a special position. It is rather simple what a Lady Reaper does, if the Family feels that "something" needs to be "cleaned" they send in The Mietitrice to do the job for them.

We are also heavily involved in the Omega-5 war against the Corsairs.
The reason for the Pirate ID has to do with the Zones of Influence. Also, we aren't exactly Red Hessians by default but aid them in their goals in return for providing us with safe havens and resources. This is also highly reflected on our diplomacy status, which is basically a complete Rip-Off from the RHA one in the official faction status.
I actually want to compliment you for the naming convention and faction name.
