Got scammed... is it illegal

Some time ago I got scammed of about 5mil, was a significant amount at that time, still is but not too much now. Of course its some time ago, before I quit and rejoined. Of course if I didn't quit I will be in a battleship by now instead of puny battlecruiser, but thats not the point :P

Anyway so is scamming a bannable offence? Its been so long I don't intend to persue this matter any further but would like a conclusive answer anyway.

If someone scams you in RP, it's completely acceptable.

If someone scams you OoRP, I think you should have been more careful.



Either way, I believe the common consensus would be that all the fault rests on your shoulders.

Most pirates are reasonable, willing to talk and make me fork out a sum I can afford to lose while still making the rest of the journey worthwhile (its a game, win-'not too badly lose' situation is good, but there are some who choose to be total jerks. Probably RL problems so venting.
