Order Super Battleship Design Contest //-stationary base as a ship

Greetings;

As some of you may know, we are planning massive RP changes for Order and constantly working on ideas. One of these ideas (which will be presented to the community after all details are set - so that we can present a full scale thing covering all questions) requires a big, massive Order super battleship (which will actually be a base, not a player ship) that will act as the remote headquarters, which will be required after certain RP consequences.

RP background about how Order acquired / built it and why, I will post later on after the "edges" are done.


What we need now is a winner, epic design. We have lots of ideas ourselves but we want the community to show theirs as well..


We offer 100.000.000 credits to the winner design as the Order| and we may increase the prize even more if the design is epic and wins our hearts.


Please note that this is a design contest so we are NOT REPLACING OR CHANGING ANYTHING YET. That is another step.

Please note that what we look is something really big and looks mean. We don't want to have a small base / ship like an Osiris that another Osiris can dock etc.

We also have a beautiful space station design being completed by Gurj, and we will be more than happy to implement your ideas as well.

PS: The changes about Order I am talking about is being discussed by many non-order community members and faction leaders as well. I have also sent a first draft to Alexander about a month ago. So, no worries, what we do, we try to do it as best as we can, fitting to the big picture.

i think i had an order DN presented some time ago - but we decided against it. - not sure if that has changed ( RP wise )

that ship was presented like 3/4 year ago as a flagship of stationary nature to present the orders efford and meddling with super-huge battleship sized main cannons to counter the much heavier nomad battleships.

The design as a ship looks very good I believe Jinx but it looks like a mobile ship, not like a behemoth that stays still. What we have in mind is Barge like structurally huge stuff to sustain heavy operational applications for the fleet since what we have in mind requires us to loose certain facilities that are to be replaced.


EDIT: Like a Super Star Destroyer thingy, when compared to Star Destroyers in means of size.

Ophi, are you looking for a Rheinland/Bretonian build shape, which is bulky?

(Then build off that to make the ship look like one made by The Order?)

Well, since Order has Libertonian like shapes on their ships, except for the carrier, I believe people would whine less when it has Libertonian / Order shape design but it doesnt have to be submarine like shaped as the structure.

This ship in my opinion is perfectly capable of being a stationary battleship, it just seems as though there are others like it floating around as mobile vessels. It needs to be wider, with more flare and/or accessories if it's going to look like a station/HQ.

my serious advice is to go for a custom station and not a ship. - engeneering abilities of sirius engeneers are limited. - especially larger sizes either rely on "alien" technology or are rare.

keep in mind - takagies base with the arch is regarded as something like a world wonder. - and thats only an arch!

don t think too big - when you look at the barge.... it is not really a large ship. it is about the size of newark station without the crescent moon shaped docking bay. - the rest of the barge is a trainlike superstructure to support mupliple containers.

i would recommend ( from an RP point of view ) something like a battleship that was build "into" an asteroid base or a ship that was so heavily modified that its now more base looking with only slight resemblence to a ship that it once was. - ( like when you cut an osiris in halfs - and use both shells of the hull as outer hull sections of a base like westpoint. )

but if its a ship - a real ship that is supposed to fly ( even if its stationary ) - it should not really exceed certain sizes.

Jinx, we are already having a custom base being designed by Gurjiv, its a very good design so a secondary custom base design would be a bit out of the picture. But this big ship will fit into the RP as well. I will even prepare a RP story of why its stationary etc. Therefore, it will be a flawed ship so the limit of engineering can be explained.


Also, arent planets objects that can be placed? What if you "place" a planet without the planet looks but a station looks. Can this be implemented?
