Join the club. We even have our own website and Skype chat, as well as a giant image of Sirius (with all the systems properly mapped in full detail) to pin his location on.

(not)

I wish, though. I actually was following a trio of Keepers through the Omicrons earlier, but Iota kept killing me.

Why does everyone think I'm in the Keepers? I'm not. Never have been either. Yes, I have a Morph and two infested chars, but nothing overt.

Also, as a Morph, your best bet is to just shut up and watch. Follow the Keepers around. Observe them. Learn.

When I talk, I deal in abstract emotions. I rarely actually "say" anything, since I'm yet immature. Like a toddler. Can't really talk, just a few sounds or words here and there. Mostly gets by by crying or facial expressions.

Same concept.

i said Nomad players not Keepers. lol

Oosh. Tough one. Mine's got three Kraken 2's and a Mini on it. I've seen others with three Widows, some with Debs, some with Vengs, some with Hellflurries.

As far a I know, it doesn't matter too much, provided it's not Buckshot or Death's Hands.

The best ones I've seen have no guns at all.

exactly. morphs arent made for PVP/senseless jibbering. they are there to observe the more seasoned nomad/infested players and see how it all works.

On the flip side, I've seen some utterly atrocious ones. "***Desire...eat...your...flesh***"

That is pure horror to me. Nomads don't eat meat...and they don't talk in complete sentences either.

They also do not pirate in Cali >.>

A good Morph will occasionally find a lone player that has followed them. The other player might be out to kill it, but oftentimes it's because the player is interested in a meaningful RP interaction. I can name quite a few, including one where I was chased down by a reporter, one where I attempted to explain to a pilot that no, Nomads don't eat pilots, we'd much rather munch on stellar radiation.

Also, above all: REMEMBER YOUR ID RESTRICTIONS! You can't initiate PvP with another player. The ONE time I actually fought another player on mine by myself was because the other player was killing Nomad NPCs. I've never fired on another player while I was by myself at any other time.

Run, not fight. Learn, not destroy. Seek and find. Grow.

Don't applaud me, please. I'm just another member trying to make things a little bit better for everyone. I've stumbled my way through a lot of it. I learn more of what I know each time I try and explain something. Take my 522nd, for example. That was a lot of fun, but got a LOT of flak. I also would point out my PvP skills. They suck. Horribly. Or they did, until I was told that I was a trainer for the LR-. I promptly went "What the!?" and learned that I can, actually, trounce people. (I'm sorry I had you guys in Conn so outnumbered 1 to 4) If people expect you to do well, surprisingly one of two things happen: You either ARE good, or everyone gangs up on you and beats you to a pulp.

Fortunately I've managed the former more than the latter.

Feel free to contact me on Skype if anyone has questions. (bls-shadow)
I might not know all the answers, but I know where to go to find them. If you'll excuse me, I need to go make some changes to the Morph section of the Lore...The current bit in there worked fine for 4.84, but I need to fix it for 4.85.

Well, first things first, as the others have recommended already, read the Nomad Lore. Back when I was starting to get familiar with Nomad RP, that's the first thing I've done.
You might not memorize it all right away, but it'll give you a sense of what to do at first. It helps a lot as a point of reference.

Furthermore, go on your morph whenever you see a Keeper online. We'll -always- RP with a morph, especially if it initiates RP with us itself.
For example, I was setting up a character in Iota yesterday, a morph contacted me with an in-RP PM, we started RPing, and it all ended up in about an hour of RP with multiple Keepers, a run around the Omicrons, and culminated in a nice fun gank (Indeed not joking, it was still amazing fun) in a system we shall not name.:P

Bottom line is, just try and be around those who are knowledgeable in RPing them, and don't be afraid to ask questions. We indeed do not bite.

And just to let off a few hints for starters, regarding "Nom speech".
Let me paste something here.

Quote:Keepers, just like Nomads, don't talk in a regular manner, they use telepathy. While it does allow some form of communication it has be done with great care. A nomad/keeper player cannot simply talk to human characters like anyone else does, instead there are several rules.

First of all telepathic messages are identified by three asterisks in the beginning, and optionally at the end. What goes in between is not a speech, but supposed interpretation of the telepathic message by the humans. In short the message have to be encoded in a puzzle form, vague and ambiguous. It's what the human players understand and how they interpret the signal. A description of the transmitting vision is encased into circular brackets, but have the same three asterisks in the beginning.

Keep in mind that it's not the words being sent to your target, it's visions and associations, a direct thoughts, not a human speech.

* Keepers don't want peace and they don't seek it as there is no gain in it from their perspective.
* Keepers may refer to themselves as a lighting, for example a shining star would mean themselves in the conversation.
* Their ship/character names do not really exist within the context of roleplay.
* They don't insult anyone.
What's in ()'s is always either a vision being conveyed to the "targetee", or an expressed emotion. It is very easy to figure out which it is from the context itself.
Don't consider things in ()'s words, but more like images being transmitted.

And basically, also read some stories, that always helps. The Keepers Faction Status lists several story examples, all of them containing samples of telepathic speech.

Especially try This One.

And don't be afraid to ask any of us.
I personally am not yet -that- experienced, but I like to think I have a sufficient grip of all the RP which I'm building up and up.
