I'm trying not to complain but just hope someone can help me enjoy the game again.

First of all, its taking WAYYY too long to reach endgame (battleship+1.1bil isk) + trader + fighter.

I have the trader, I have the fighter, I have the battlecruiser, but taking some time on the level 90 and bship.

Problem is its taking FOREVER. I asked one guy how long he took for level 90, his answer freaked me out. 5 months. No wonder I'm getting nowhere with my pathetic 2 months (with 2 weeks hard grinding). Any tips on how I can improbe my productivity?

Then after that the task of getting codename weapons for all my ships...

Right any way to improve my trader productivity appreciated.

I'm making about theoratical 30mil an hour but it usually boils down to 20. Usually make that much a day. Thats if I don't meet any pirates. The way this is going, 1500,000,000isk just for my bship and fittings not counting the 1.1bil isk I will need is going to take FOREVER. Thats gona be a pain.
Too bad there aint no goldsellers/game time codes to sell for freelancer.

you don t need to reach "endgame" to have fun. - sorry, its a one liner, but its really all that can be said about it.

edit: to make it less of a one liner:

many veterans start out grinding when they re newbies, but go back to low level stuff - fighters with faction weapons and no codenames. - often no capital ships ( oh, they mostly have them - but they re taking dust )

roleplay ( ingame ) is what creates the fun - and you can have fun in a starflier as much as in a juggernaut. - trading can be fun, too - its not grinding. you are roleplaying a trader , you know.. you are not roleplaying a faceless idiot that is trying to make money. - trader is a ROLE much like pirate, police etc.

Oh and the reason why so many of my posts sound so depressing is because I forum while trading. So yes its a pain.

Also, I thought freelancer was about ACTION? I aint see no action, and those I do see I'd rather do without (pirates/other pple who want my hard earned isk or cargo). And you know how depressing trading is.

The largest ships I own are a salvage frigate and a gunboat, two seperate characters.

I lead a faction. I consider having 180 mil on my trader (the frigate, I trade for the RP more than the cash though I know some awesome routes) an excess of cash and look for an excuse to spend it. By RPing the trade I mean moving cargo for legitimate reasons to locations where it's actually needed, in a ZOI where it makes sense for a Junker Salvage Frigate to be. Sometimes this is not very profitable. If I'm pirated I try to RP the demand down, if not I decide my course from there. I've paid ransoms probably half a dozen times since starting on Discovery just because I know how to talk to pirates.

Truth: You don't need to be rich or even good at the gameplay aspects of this game to enjoy it. This game is about interaction and storytelling rather than straight combat or other supremacy.

Truth: Trading is painful unless you have friends to do it with, or have an RP to share regarding the cargo, the route and your ship. Then it's like waiting for someone to stop you so you can tell the story.

Believe us, we're all old hands at this. Only earn the cash if you really want that capship, or are intending to start a faction or your own bounty board. Most of us vets don't trade and are generally poor because our stuff has such low upkeep.

Bottom line: Find something here that is fun. If you don't have fun, don't waste your time here.

that WAS the hint:

you work out a logical role for your char(s) - and you roleplay them. you create a char in a world of what you imagine is fun. you can roleplay a fat clown in a patriot ( usually called LPI ) - or a teethless pirate with a bold spot.

all up to you - thats the great freedom. you make your own fun, your own ... if you say so... productavity. roleplay is a game-system that relies 90% on yourself and your own imagination. if you have the imagination and fun with your imagination, you ll have fun roleplaying. - if you don t have that... you won t have fun.

this is not a pvp game with a ladder. - it is also not a game where roleplay is measured in quality. - the only judge about your fun is oneself. you don t need to prove anything to others.

interaction is the element of unpreditctability in the game. - thats what makes it interesting. your role clashes with other roles - and a solution is found... or in some cases pvp is found.

roleplaying games don t suit everyone for sure.

you can join a playerfaction if you like - it might give you some structure to build a RP on ( helpful for some ) - or you can remain non-factionized and make your own role perfect. - no one is forcing you to do anything - ( except the basic rules of social competence and fairplay mind )

Well I am intending to start my own faction based off the capship. Also my trader is in player faction. My navy capship aint cos I don't like being the underdog. Now that its assault cruiser and commands a little more respect I may just enlist it.

That's your prerogative. I co-lead my faction by the way I can hatch long-term complicated evil plans and talk people to death.

My way saves many hours of staring at trade lane tunnels.

its just important that you have fun - and don t spoil other peoples fun. - other than that... you can also spawn a faction off a green melon.

Hey no one wants to join a bankrupt corp. In eve we used to ask how much reserve they got and extremely rich guys were an instant deciding factor for me, till I decided to play it slow and join an aussie corp.

Anyway yeah I'm gona start a space holding corp and to get enough members to do that I better get more isk. FAST.

Man I love the iskies... or whatever it is you call em here.
