All looks very nice. Might I suggest that retextured planets get priority for any proposed additions? The current ones have some really blocky real estate.

I like the screenshots and the retextured planets but the Nukes just can't be because then there wouldn't be a base to land on :sleep: But otherwise I like it and some graphic improvements would be awsome! And I like what the dev team made in 4.85 with the Iota system tradelanes and jumpgates (it's a must see!)

if disco freelancer was some "anime" or based on japanese space opera cartoons, these effects would fit. - but for the rather conservative disco we got now - - most of those effects are just too much in a whole. - even the o-41 neutron star is stretching it.

Or tone them down a bit, so we can have some fresh new stuff to play with.

That would depend on which picture you are referring to.

I don't like the super-colourful lights, but I do enjoy some of the backgrounds, the planets and the first gun. I heavily dislike the jumpgate - BUT.... Discovery's jumpgate animation needs a re-do.

Yeah. I think the lightning gun is a bit out of discovery to be included, but different models and effects for jump gates would be nice, along with new planet textures. The nuke though most certainly does not belong in Discovery, however.

Beware, the following is a train of thought...

I like the idea of a different kind of Jumpgate... Like for some of the larger houses that don't have access to Agiera Tech's jumpgates... Maybe something like it for the Corsairs and the Order possibly the Zoners and Ooutcasts as well. They're big enough to have access to the kind of thinking involved in such things. Or else a different Jumpgate for Gallia, they've had no contact with the rest of the houses and thus their tech should be somewhat different. (I like that static gate thing a lot. It's simple and a good idea) Maybe just a sort of gate covering over something that looks like a jumphole. Indicating a "captured" jumphole (like from O-Minor to O-100) or to other guard systems. Meh, I don't know but it seems odd to me that some of the largest factions in Sirius rely on naturally forming Gravitational Anomalies to move around ships...

Yes a static one would be nice but exactly the one from the video isn't what would go into a Omicron system, but then again I don't know what kind of JG would...Hey i got an idea Tena! Your doing those turrets right? So why not take the barrels and make a circle with em and voila you got a Order JG;)
