Yes, as much as people complained about the Diamond-Niobium run - nerfing that only shifted the problem somewhere else.

The only real bad part of that run was the OORP shortcut through Chugoku. The use of the s-13 -> NB jump hole could be justified as greedy traders taking a more dangerous road - this led to the Wilde being put either side of the hole, as well as pirates basing out of Yanagi.

For our part - the GMG actually tolerated pirates that werent too brazen. As long as a pirate didnt come over to our trade lanes - they could actually make a good living skimming off the top of the illicit Diamond trade.

Hell we would have fun just sitting back and watching Corsairs and OC duke it out! Dragons would also come in for some fun.

Heh, want to ask for the run to be reinstated?;)

I don't think that would work, the powertraders would just calculate the loss within their profit scheme, rather than scare them to the houses. It would however be unfair and annoying to the factions that live in the outerworlds. If I'm a Corsair that wants to do an Alpha raid or an Outcast in the reverse, I shouldn't have to take 6% damage to do so. The solution is to make house trading better rather than handing out nerfs. The only thing I can agree on with nerfing is on the whale. Make it have the same stats as the Kujira Whale and give it a gun like the Kujira.

If the ships are the same - then there aint no difference...

Perhaps the ZBT could have same cargo, but maybe some guns?

It depends on what the incentive is to buy it?

Is it the cargo hold, or the fact it is a neutral Zoner ID that goes with it? I suggest it is a combination of both.

That being said, now that the OPG has taken a stand and put pressure on indy Zoners - I am starting to see indy Hogosha trains (lolwut?!).

I agree - boost House trade runs - but how to make the buggers actually JOIN a house - rather than being an indy trader simply running a House route?

Bretonia Rheinland trade is a bit crap, sorry, our best route is about 24,693,876 per hour in a 5000 (refugees>military vehicles). The Best Kusari rheinland route is some 29,022,658 per hour, and there are barely any pirates there to pester them.

Unfortunately thats where LWB must pirate, where Hessians must pirate, if a Rheinlander wants good profit and less risk, they can simply go to Kusari where most of the routes are far better, the only ones to hit those traders are Bundies.

I get better profit with a smuggler route with zero risk and 4300 cargo, not just a bit more profit, a crapload more, several milion more per hour.

All the while my transport doesnt get Cd'd constantly by npc's, pirated by 8 corsairs, or has to pay attention and do that laboursome task of clicking on the trade lane and pressing dock, only to have it interupted a few lanes down, and the profit is hurt by interuptions.

Wonder why kusari has nothing but traders? yeah, it's awesome trade, thats why, bretonia's best trade goes to Kusari and all those zoner routes from gran canaria head north too, shame we're at war huh? you can make 31mil an hour BMM bases > Samura bases, oh, if only we had a neutral party with 5000 cargo to do this run?

Current trade system has killed it frankly, it's based on Zoner trade hubs, blockade runners, Smuggling, piracy (but no traders outside zoners, smugglers and blockade runners to pirate?) and Kusari.

Heh, looks like some of the Corsairs need to make Blood Dragon characters then!;)

Either that or Corsairs need to come back to Sigma-13...

if i can help here by pitching some ideas in:

Unlawfulls need to do their job better and make place more scary for the traders in border worlds. That would make people flock to the Kusari, Liberty and Bretonia. NOT REINH.
Then, unlawfulls there need to do their job, primarly hogosha and FA.
Pirating all those traders there, KNF enforcing the embargo, and things going wild there!
Liberty is heavily pirated as well, those guys just need to get out of those bombers and get transports so when traders refuse to pay they still get their profits.
After that Bretonnia needs to cut off the Leeds route and leave it in for IN RP people.
Then people will fill up Reinhald.
When everyone is doing their job and sticking to the trade routes their ID shows, there's more chance of actually having some trades done in that desolate place beyond o7.

The action is were the traders are.
there be pirates, there be police, there be bountyhunters.

Drop the war embargo, in space, therefore in rp a blockade is pointless, and it harmes the own economy more than it does to the enemys.

One way to get some traders into rheinland, would be to declare all proper ided and tagged bretonians and kusari traders as trusted.
Therefore these transports may cross the rheinland liberty border, with their cargo and profit.

Neither bretonia nor kusari could affort the become a part of the r-l war. so let all the samura, kishiro, bmm, bowex and gateway sippers trough there.
we get rp, pirates and fun for it.
at this point next to no legal trader run between rheinland an liberty, just becasue they play a lawful trader, and dont want to break any laws.

For my gray hairs sake, give the a permission, licence, whatever to trade there.

The RM has always been an issue for me. I wanted to set up a special RP type of thing in Rheinland, but the RM shot it down, wanted nothing to do with it.

I stay in RP and have a quite decent time with my Bretonia - Rheinland run.

Here's the figures, based upon a 5,000 cargo ship:

Super-Alloy, Planet Leeds to Alster SY, 6.67 mil, 15 min, 20 sec

Basic Alloy, Alster SY to Oder SY, .55 mil, 3 min, 30 sec

Engine Components, Oder SY to Southampton SY, 7.8 mil, 15 min, 30 sec

Basic Alloy, Southampton SY to Planet Leeds, .33 mil, 2 min, 40 sec

15.35 mil round trip, 37 minutes. That's a little over 23 million credits per hour. You meet cool people when there are people there, a lot of times you're left alone, and you're not violating anyone's trade embargo.

' Wrote:Ok, I haven't read everyone's posts yet but I would recommend you restart the Rheinland Bounty Board to attract BHG/FLs/Mercs to Rheinland. I've checked the bounty board index and niether the [RM] nor the RFP have a bounty board (anymore).
It recently got relaunched: Reworked and new contracts will be added soon

' Wrote:There was a heap of role-play done between me and Gronath to establish this in the first place. And then the new leadership in the lawful Rheinland authorities simply stopped it - despite the fact that it did bring more players to Rheinland. The real question is why? Often decisions are made and people are told they can't do x, y and z for no real reason other than because a lawful faction has authority and wants to order people around. The old RM could afford to be a little strong when it came to imposing law and order, but that was in 4.84. Continue to try to be erveything to everybody in this version and Rheinland will choke.
....................
As stated above, I reopened the bounty board.
The reason why it stopped was, that Gronath went inactive and nobody was looking after it anymore.
When Rob stepped back I had to revitalize the membership, then the ranks. Reorganize a few things and what was maybe the important part, get used to lead such a big faction.

Also an annoying thing was a big problem. The Cash.
The Armory was bone dry for some time and I tried hard to trade it up a bit. I failed due to my time. Beeing online in the faction, trade, do the forum parts and still have work and RL to do.
Luckily we have lots of dedicated members who donated lots of cash.
A big thanks to Ventana at this point. Most donated things belog to him.

Now having a solid cashcount on it gives me the ability to reopen the Bounty Board.

Hunting the Mandalorians was just the first step. Adding a few embargo runners and smugglers may happen the upcoming weeks.

I erased the unlawfull faction hunting for now, because there are hardly any on.
They have to deal with nearly no traders and lots of RM around.
Adding hunters to look for them too would be way too much at the moment.
If the unlawfulls can provide an active presence in other timezones, then I will gladly reopen the normal bounties on Rheinland unlawfulls again.

' Wrote:The RM has always been an issue for me. I wanted to set up a special RP type of thing in Rheinland, but the RM shot it down, wanted nothing to do with it.

I am sorry to hear that and I dont know if I refused it or when it happened before my leading time.
Regardless of when it was, special roleplay is as the name already states, special.
Just coming up with a story, even if its well thought out, is not enough. It still can crash and get denied.
Requesting something does not mean to get it straight away.

It is also nothing personal.
Zapp can come up with a verry good story, if it does interfere with the Rheinland RP and wont fit due to certain things, it will get denied.
We respect other peoples roleplay and it is wanted to have different types and ways of it on the server and especialy in Rheinland.
But you also have to think on the roleplay of others or even of the whole rolplay from a house.
It can easily happen, that requested things wont fit in due to not making sense.

The best example is stealing a ship. Easy to say. But if you look close at it, there are so many things to consider. Smashing in a window wont work.

Also I am glad if people ask me if they want to do some special RP stuff, which will most likely meet the RM at some point.
And also not only me. There are plenty of [RM] members or even unlawfulls like the [RHA], who can provide you with enough hints and background so your story fits in.
