Swear Fines FLHook?

Wouldn't be able to play the damned game if they imposed swear fines. 9/10 of my sentance is swearing. As our Megalolsparta said, dun fix what ain't broke. No need for more rules.

Seriously though, if we were to rely on a program, lines of code, etc, etc to prevent swearing in a game, then heads would seriously need checking.

Do you mean like the lines of code and programs used to make your reply? Should we all go round, knock on each others doors, and say "hello"? I certainly used to when I played 'Traveler' (paperbased scifi RPG). Or do you mean the Freelancer program and the Discovery lines of code? Should we all go out mount weapons on our cars (whatever) and go round pirating the trafic on the highway instead?
I did say its voluntary so think of it the same way you would a seatbelt.

Absolutely not. A swear filter is why Neopets sucks. Our current system works fine, and it doesn't punish people for accidents or innocent words containing bad ones.

Everyone else and the admins will end up banned within a day. No. Honestly, swearing isn't a huge problem at all, I've never seen a flurry of f***ks or s**ts in system chat. Everyone does it in group and on Skype and I don't see anyone complaining.

Let's do something about things that actually need fixing? Please?

As usual the many people have a knee jerk reaction and don't make suggestions to help it work but itstead find all of the obvious ways in which in won't.

Let me make a couple of things clear.
1. This is on the list.
2. It will not be used for group or private chat
3. It will only happen for certain words.
4. It will not be perfect.
5. It will cut down on the number of sanctions.
6. It will only suppress the sentence and inform the player that the sentence was suppressed.

The primary reason for this is to CUT DOWN THE NUMBER OF SANCTIONS. EVERYBODY HATES THEM. ADMINS HATE THEM. PLAYERS HATE THEM. THEY SUCK.

In case you haven't noticed, the forum has been filtering swearing words for months.

You like to rp in group chat, alright thats fine. SOemtimes I and other people I fly with like to talk about completly diffrent things wich are not game related. And we enjoy it. Until it doesnt touches the pleyers who like to RP all the time, its nothign wrong. All in all we came here to have fun !

And to put a fine for 'lol' in a group chat... you should be nuts:(

Imposing fines on people who are swearing in a group chat (which is meant to be bloody private) to the person or people in it?

That's ludicrous.

Fining people for big swears in system chat or local chat, that's totally different. (As long as words like Damn and bastards are not included in that)

But fining people for what they say to each other in private is totally ludicrous, of course if somebody in the group is uncomfortable with the language then punishments should be dished out if it isn't stopped.

But fining when everyone in the group is okay with it?

No thanks.
