ALG is just an example.

First off: a lot of mute traders will not even know about this, seeinga s they don`t read the forums. that emans that the RM will ahve to do a lot of anti-F1 talking. then, the silent traders start to act like smugglers. breaking from lanes, sneaking past via jumpholes. trying to avoid contact altogheter. how does that improve rp?

when they get "used" to this, and they all know about the taxing, you`ll have Daumann Whales, Kruger Mastodonts, Repubican Shires etc. all over the place. it will be anarchy, good sir.

Well, in RP, a large part of rheinlands trade revenue comes from bretonians shipping military vehicles and engine components to the front line and the shipyards due to the invasion by kusari, so discouraging that would, in RP, do a lot more harm than good to the rheinland economy.

Seeing as (in RP) we can source those components and vehicles from liberty, loosing the trade would be a pretty big blow to the rheinland economy (mainly as it would boost the libertonian economy at the same time). So if you are trying to say that this is (in RP) a good move, id have to disagree.

Plus the definate prospect of being taxed by a government is much less inviting than the chance of being taxed by a pirate.

My real Issue, Is that it's void if the LPI still want a near total embargo.

" your Breaking the embargo!"
" but rhienland will let me ship them Conductors!!"
" we dont"

I really cant say I have anything against this. It adds some realism to the whole thing. But , what other people already said does have a hint of truth. If you start taxing everyone , even if just a litle , it will be a turn off and it will keep people from going there.

Look Dashiell, the borders from Liberty to Rheinland are opened again. You are welcome with all kinds of goods. You can now gain your profits with importing. (Contraband law still active.) In exchange to that embargo for incoming goods, we raised this small tax on goods. Traders can now pass our borders and operate here.

If they sneak around and use jumpholes... fine. I have no problem with that. Hopefull our local pirates read all that here and become active, in order to rob them. I doubt that they will demand an amount that low.

Regarding F1ers: meh... either reported or abused. It's up to our mood.

If all you powertraders out there read that: join the Rheinland companies and capitulate to our RP trading. It is way more fun.

Then do that. I place a fifty million bet that you will continue exporting Rheinland products to Bretonia, just because the profit is higher.

I ship a lot of Toxic Waste from Liberty to Bretonia. I NEVER saw the LPI nor the LN hanging out in Texas to stop me. Only some stupid LNS vessels, who are not allowed to demand cargo. Please LN/LPI... rise your activity in Texas. Hopefully the Unioners will kick ya. (Means that their activity will rise as well.)

Rather than changing their ships, reps and such, powertraders will simply avoid rheinland, and so will RP traders. A tax no matter how small is always a daunting prospect, just as being stopped by the military is.

I am just saying that this wont help rheinland, i mean look at what happened to kusari after they wanted to do some trader lisencing thing, its desolate, the same will happen to rheinland.

As i said, its not the size of the tax that will put people off going there, its the very fact that there is a tax in the first place.

Edit: Just so you know, im not saying this as an indy powertrader, im saying all this as an active member of Bowex), so you can call me a powertrader all you like, but it is people that want to play as part of a faction that you are trying to attract, and i am saying that it will make no difference on that front, it will only decrease the ammount of people trading there in general. And as im sure you know, loosing traders indy or faction has a butterfly effect that ends up in a totally desolate region.
