OK as you guys must have noticed like me.... the game mechanics remain the same and as new ships are introduced its really same ole same ole and excitement has been drawing down real quick..... So I want this brain bank to come up with creative ideas to stretch the game mechanics to add more dimension to fighting n stuff. Some stuff will be roleplay and and some other will be restrictions placed by the rules of the game. I will start....

1. Separating the mooring and docking ports on planets so the smuggling goods can be controlled by game rules. Make the selling price of Artifacts, Cardi, etc etc bad if you moor. High if you dock. (I know my old idea but I think this has merit for a lil exposure. (Easy to do. Add another planet in data when you moor there, you get all the data from manhatten except smuggling goods.

2. Am I the only one who wants to be a gunner on a battle ship? Here is how we do it while being restricted by game mechanics. Make a ship that looks like a Gun on a battleship. no thruster. Turn rate of a battleship Gun covers half a sphere. Give it one battleship gun a gunboat powerplant and a Cruiser shield.. (now this can not be used as a fighter..as there is no thruster and it will turn like a battleship. It will be agreed that upon the destruction of the battleship, the gun will stop firing. This ship will fly in cruiser with the battleship and will provide extra firepower. (also it can be used as a add on on a transport ship (gives us more RP possibilities).

What about the ships that cannot dock? Like the BW transport, at least I don't think it can dock... Or is this encouraging the use of smaller ships for smuggling?

Now that would be cool... I presume this would be on Player battleships right? How would the gun/ship be attached to the actual ship? I rather like that idea... would be especially good for the 5K transports that only have like one or two guns. Would give a new job for new freelancers/escort pilots that can't afford their own ship (RP possibility indeed!). I'd like to see that implemented.

The ideas are to use smaller ships for smuggling. The borderworld transport could still park in space somewhere and sell goodies to smaller ships.

As for the flying guns ? *cough* the F4 button will do the trick aka formation. I am sure in about 2 millenia from today they would have figured out hover guns areound player battleships. The team gives up a fighter that could have been flown to become a gunner on a battleship. Also they could be worked with transports but will be an interesting proposal. As any movement from the transport will kill the guns (cruise engages). RP rule still applies, the transport dies, the gunner stops shooting.

Is there anything in the code which can keep a vessel from docking ? if Yes lets get the barge out as a space station. you will not be able to trade with it, but gives more rp facilities. you repair by buying bats and bots or dying.....
