I've un-installed a bunch of stuff, but there is still lag. Cannon said to delete DSAce.dll, but it kicks me for bad installation. Please, find a way around this and let people with crap computers actually PLAY.

My computer is 10 years old and doesn't have a separate video card. The video card comes with and is built into the motherboard, resulting in it being a lot less powerful than some other 10 YEAR old computers. This computer is also almost filled to the brim with FL related things. And you know what? IT RUNS FL FINE. Crappy computers CAN play FL.

P.S. Try turning off AIM or other online IM's (not including Xfire) Its what helped me.

As an ANZlagger I am subject to ping times in excess of 600 for extended periods. Nothing can fix this, because of the simple distance between me and the server.

Yet I still manage to play and enjoy myself here. Albeit whilst avoiding any pvp-ness beyond defending myself (which itself is quite lulzy. What is lag? Ping? How can I reset my connection? Is that a euphemism for something? What the hell mate?)

And, as a povo tertiary student, I still managed to buy myself a computer capable of running Freelancer a hundred times side-by-side. It only cost me $400. And that's a lot for me since I am paid about the same *per month*.

Don't bitch about lag unless you're Australian and thus have an excuse.
Don't bitch about a ****ty computer. Buy a new one. It's not expensive at all. Go mow people's lawns for some pocket money.

I still get a ping 140-180.

So your on a horrible connection (dial up?)
Or a very old PC.


Post your PC specs and maybe some people could suggest some budget upgrades.:)

I use a god-damned Compaq laptop in Canada with T1 and I still have 200-250 ms. I have a PoS onboard intel shared graphics card. I get some graphics lag when I stare at explosions or massive planets like gas giants and Manhattan. I don't bitch about it. Unless you have a computer that came with DOS 6.22 pre-installed, you have no right to bitch about your lag.
