Yeah but in game, you get everyone telling you"you cannot use that,it is not yours" which get's old really fast.

Hey, got a report from someone I trust that scrap was making about 40 million an hour there.

Scrap was down on the list of stuff I'm testing, but I think that a small change made somewhere has borked the mining system somewhat.

If that report is accurate then you should be making about 20 million an hour now, which was the intended target.

If you feel that was the only way a Junker can make money and that I am trying to destroy the Junker playerbase then, well, I dunno what to tell you.

Sorry if you have to sell your Junker Zoner carrier now though.

But now we have another lawfull mean's to make money taken away. The biggest lawful way. JUNKER/Mining scrap Anyone see this? Now JUNKER/Smuggle No other way to make any real cash. Might as well just buy slave liner, and smuggler ID.

And this is when you shed your true colors, ryoken. Just because you aren't profiteering that roleplay doesn't deserve your effort, eh? Oh, geez, and here I was thinking that we played to have fun roleplay rather than piling up cash. How naive of me... What do you think of the police/navy? They don't get money from enforcing the law. Are those not worthwhile as well?

Either you are here to roleplay or to pile up cash for your shiny battleship. The new changes do nothing to hinder our ability to roleplay, so there shouldn't be a problem.

On the ship issue, while it is a pity that we can't explore our scrap collector facet a bit more, using bits and pieces we find, without the tech chart rules everyone would fly around in the most overpowered ship using the most overpowered guns in a PvP faction with a Sirius-wide ZoI. I gladly sacrifice my expanded kit to keep the server from self-destructing.

I was making 20 million an hour in my properly equipped, Junker IFF and ID'd Salvage Frigate BEFORE the drop to 1500 credits. And he flies solo, mind you.
Ten minutes to fly from Invergordon to New London, ten minutes or so mining to fill up my hold in the field, ten minutes back. I'd get 10 million, roughly, each run.

I don't know how someone was making 40 million off of it when I was taking the shortest routes possible and only made half that... And I was using the whole 3350 hold space of the Salvager. No Armor upgrades or anything.

What exactly was this person using to get 40 million an hour?

Characters

The Perihelion: Freeport Four's guardian, and yet much more. Missing and assumed Lost with all hands.
Eric Dresmund: Junker, smuggler, thief. Last seen drunk on Beaumont
Vayrn Wyard: IMG Recon pilot turned Neo-Terran Captain. Last location unknown

I'm testing it now. Chill pills are available in the break room.

This is why I have been lobbying for subtle to moderate tweaks to junker gear, and have been meeting with some success. Some player groups in the past have come in and treated the faction id as a sirius and gallia wide piracy license with lawful docking privilege and the option to use any faction's weaponry.

As you can expect, that went down in flames. Junkers should primarily be using junker gear and ships. While the Zoner gunship is sold on a Junker base, it does require a bit of diplomacy roleplay and community interaction to go through first now. Not too hard, is it?

As for the scrap mining bit with inverness, that's Dusty's bit. And don't be silly about how unjust it is. Do you know what other lawful trading factions go through to do their runs? Being a Junker is easy compared to getting hunted through house space and getting powerpirated. Junkers don't get that nearly as badly.

And there are multitudes of ways to make a legal or quasi-legal living as a Junker. Many of them are even profitable.

Honestly, I was as insular as some of you guys were once. It all changed when I started talking to people, and stopped assuming stupid conspiracies or ignorance. The game became a lot less aggravating then too. Nobody here is against anybody, or at least nobody in a position worth a damn.

Some junker players haven't discovered all their employment options yet and as a result don't know how good they have it.

Barragers are no longer the turdo they used to be, and the Collector is a man's ship.

The Zoner ship for sale in the Junker station was a mistake in the first place, as was the decision to sell Zoner gunboats to the open market. Why should Zoners, unlike all other factions, sell their warships to Freelancers and Junkers alike?

Now the gunboat is taken off, it's just that in terms of game mechanics it hasn't been removed from the Junker base. So that's no excuse for whining "BUT TEH ZONERS HAS GB IN OUR STATION WHY CANT WE FLY EET".

I realise that this is just a rant about Junkers are too much nerfed in disguise. Tough, deal with it. It fits your RP, Junker make their weapons and ships from recycled rubbish, don't expect them to be the best stuff in the game, if you joined Junkers for tech usage and ZOI, then you're doing it wrong.

I'm tired of that last segment being used as an argument for keeping Junker tech down. The junkers deal in scrap, they don't live in it. Junker ships are more like multipurpose craft, guerilla tools that are combat-capable at a moment's notice while looking like standard salvage kit to the untrained eye. If roleplay dictated game balance, more factions than junkers would have extremely subpar ships and equipment.

If anyone should be stuck with subpar guns and ships that are cobbled together and made of garbage and prayers it's the Xenos. And we all know how their garbage and prayers fare in combat, because they need to bethat good for game balance purposes.

I agree with everything else you said, but junkers are just pragmatic and sneaky. Not garbage-eating sewer rats.
