You mean that it changes your PerfOptions? Did you change the resolution at the options menu? If so, you might need to reinstall.

Come on! Be free!

Yes it does change my PerfOptions, but the thing is I haven't changed it in game at all. It just does it whenever I restart the game.

Well this has cost me a lot trying to sort out, I made the oldest mistake in the books and didn't back up my multiplayer ID before I reinstalled Freelancer:(

Back on subject, At 1400x900 the font was very small and difficult to read. Has anyone got a settings for 1400x900 that the prefer, or can someone let me know how to increase the font size please?

Edit :- well that was the biggest waste ever...despite the reinstall and loss of characters it is still doing the same thing

I've tried write protecting the file and that does stop it changing, but when I go in game it is still showing at 800x600.

Edit 2 :- Ive noticed that when i start the game up the initial menus etc are corrct but after I click new game or even options thats when it displays the wrong resolution

Ok I've found a solution though sheer luck more than anything. For this to work for me I have to be running in windowed mode.

I've been trying to sort out my FoxV and got as low as 32.88 with no change. At the moment the top menu is mostly off screen, and the bars around the health bars etc are missing.
Has anyone got it running at 1400 x 900 with those intact and if so what setting are they using?

Ok I found the answer on the wiki:)

the camera settings for 1400 x 900 are as follows...

[WinCamera]
fovx = 63.504809977813375

[CockpitCamera]
fovx = 90
znear = 2.000000

[ChaseCamera]
fovx = 90

[DeathCamera]
fovx = 90

those settings work for me straight away, (no taking off and landing) and have worked in all views

:):):)

Cheers for the help and sorry about all the edits lol

If you are using the Discovery Mod v. 4.85 with the recent update applied, you should NOT use the tutorial in this thread. You should just add either -dx or -d1920x1080 to the commandline field of the Freelancer shortcut.

If you are talking about plain vanilla Freelancer, then you have not edited all the necessary files, since the hud placements are wrong.

Remember to restore the original camera.ini and fonts.ini files first, before starting up Freelancer with the Discovery Mod and the -d or -dx parameters.
