I was there back in .83 when Nomad ships were available to everyone. They ended up being abused or used for Pvp purposes.

Making it free of access wouldn't only generate more PVP whoring, but also less RP.

Anywho, no. For all the reasons aforementioned. It would be terrible. Look at what happens with pirates. If people think that thieves = murderers, what would they do if they got their hands on something that actually wants to vaporize humans?

And let also say that since nomads are almost always on the ganked side, their ships are a little more performant in fights.

Especially the voidnommer.

As long as the faction is like it is ATM, I dont have a problem with that.
But imagine the huge lolindy nomad gank fests that would happen if some of theses pvpwhores got nomad ID

Nomads have free license to shoot anyone they want, whenever they want, without really needing a good reason to do so. Very, very few players have shown the competence or capability to properly RP a nomad.

Most of what is looked at when you're joining is as follows:
-Proper knowledge of nomad lore
-Ability to properly RP a nomad in-game
-Ability to write legibly and compose a story for your character, which demonstrates knowledge of forum RP
-Self-Restraint in the area of pvp

The last one is quite important. Sure, we love to pvp, but it is far from the goal of the faction. You can not fathom the number of nomad trials that PM me whenever I log onto my keeper with questions like "where I get nomad guns?" "I need to group with u so I can fight people" and "Can we raid with u?"

99% of this server is not capable of being a keeper, or a wilde, or a phantom, in my opinion. This is why these factions are made exclusive, and why it is not easy at all to get in. It took me almost a year to be accepted, and in all confidence I can say that I am one of the better Roleplayers in the community - that should explain how strict these groups are.

There are developments going on internally, but I cant say anything, so you'll all just have to wait until the leaders come out with it.

from what i understand the nomads ships cannot be handed just to anyone. it requires at least some knowledge of them that should be proven beforehand. i can also imagine a large amount of nomad caps in every house just shooting at everything that moves 'because they can'.
