Plenty from both sides were involved. Regardless, numbers mean little.

We had Turkish, Yue Fei, Jimmy Patterson, JakeSG and others, including yourself on one side, with openings for more, should they wish to join in; myself, alvin and various allies on the other.

Nevertheless, it's not confrontational or a competition, so that hardly matters.

What I'm seeing is that the LPI and Liberty Navy factions ignored a backwater system's politics.

This is what would happen anyway, right?

No, once rioting starts the LPI gets very interested. Once a member of the SCRA runs for office, everyone gets involved. Again, assuming we'll take a certain action and RPing it that way doesn't cut it.

I didn't ignore this RP. I was never aware of it to ignore it.

Edit: So you don't pick at my word choice, definition of ignore: "refuse to acknowledge". Can't refuse to acknowledge something that isn't known about.

Eh, I feel Yue's actions were not as a LN officer, but as a SCRA member. It seemed more like a ploy to make the LN look bad and the SCRA look like martyrs.

My personal opinion of course...

Hardly anyone's fault. It was posted on a public forum, with an invitation to all to join in. And again, nobody RPed the LPI's actions.

Regardless, it's a backwater system. The LPI not knowing what's going down is typical. Hence all the smugglers that Alvin was catching, amirite?

Besides, riots were arguably caused by actions by Yue Fei, who was playing on the Liberty side.

Shouldn't LPI have people assigned to watch all the systems in which they're active?

Assuming I read every RP thread on the forums is ridiculous. I'm rather sure the LPI would be aware of what was going on, kinda hard to miss, from where I'm sitting.

And that last statement is funny. In-RP, yes. If you mean that we should've had someone keeping an eye on the Ontario system to see if something like this ever happened and inform me, no. Joe brought up a valid point: we can barely leave New York without getting swamped. We leave there for five minutes, and there are a pair of Tridents running around. But that's not to be considered in RP. Saying we ignore the system by lack of patrolling their with players is funny. One, that's what NPCs are for. Two, I've told LPI recruits in the past to go patrol Ontario and Alberta.

Funny, since Yue Fei isn't even in the SCRA skype chat right now, and did this by himself.

We just saw it as an act of incompetence.

You could easily have a couple of players looking for Liberty-related stories on the forum too.

And everything you do should be considered in RP. It's an RP server.

I'm going to give an example.. The RP story Questioning Loyalties was written by myself, Zapp, and Dieter together. Before making this story, I first went over the details of the character, what she was going to do, why, and what Zapp and Dieter should do. As the story went on, we continued to discuss important things via Skype and PM -before- they were posted, to avoid any powergaming. Things that directly affected other characters for example. Those of you who read it may remember how Evyn kidnapped Admiral Nelles' mistress and pretended to be here in order to try and kill him.. That whole scene was discussed in private before being written and posted. That's how cooperative RP should be handled.

In the past we didn't do that and we had some powergaming on all sides, but it didn't get hugely out-of-hand, and if someone did step over the line, someone would tell them and they would fix it. The current enviroment here on Disco isn't as kind anymore, as people are loath to do what others tell them to, and the majority of people here are opposed to any kind of criticism that isn't in their favor. Several posts in this thread are great examples of that.

So in order to avoid that and to make the story as fun and entertaining to everyone else as it is to you, discuss major events in private before-hand.

Thats just how it felt when I seen it.. :(

I'm likely wrong.. but its odd the first time Isabelle shows up in months, is to start an event that will discredit the Liberty Government, and help the SCRA cause.

If you look at it from my point of view.. it is kinda sketchy wouldn't you say?

Again, that can and will exclude new players from the game.

Having rules for the server that aren't listed in the server rules will only confuse people and put people off joining.

If I was a new player, having just joined and finding it this difficult to get involved, I wouldn't be impressed.

Not difficult to get involved. Just takes a couple PMs.
