So which of you play it? How far are you? What characters do you use? Are you in a guild? If so, what guild?

I'm at Lion's Arch at the moment.
I have a R/Mo17, and a W/N6 in Pre-Searing.
I'm in the Guild, Vanguard Elite, [UNIT].

I have a question for those who play this game, actually a few questions.
I've heard that the maximum level in this game is level 20 and it only takes a few days to get to this point. Also that after level 12 there aren't really any quests or anything to assist in leveling up so it is really just grinding past this point.

Is any of this true?

I play the game.
Got a level 10 elementalist/necromancer adventuring around Ascalon City (post searing).
A part from that I have three others which are somewhere around level 1-3 in pre searing.
I'm not part of a guild, but am planning to joining one...

Elvalia, yes it's true you only get to go to level 20. But there are still a lot of variation in it, since you can still earn skills and rearrange whatever points in attributes you have.
Become level 20 in a few days? You might. But I don't think you'll get any sleep then. :P
So far it's taken me three weeks to get to level 10 with my elementalist/necromancer, with moderate play time per day.

Can't really help with the last question, havn't reached level 12 yet. :D

Yes, at the moment level cap is 20. It will probably become bigger eventually, but at the moment I quite like the low level cap. Saves me from running into level 60+ morons who mouth off because they have nothing better to do. At level 20, you'll still have to face monsters that are over level 20. Which keeps the game challenging, as well as making you make use of teamwork and skills. Not to mention the PvP. And there are plenty of quests after level 12. As a matter of fact, I just finished a quite challenging quest worth 4,000 XP. What a challenge that was. :P And level 20 in a few days? That depends. You could just rush and get ascended to be level 20, OR you could take your time to explore the world, do the quests. ACTUALLY ENJOY THE GAME. Lots of little goodies if you just look around. :)

You know, this doesn't sound *quite* so bad as when I first heard about it, maybe I'll try picking it up next month or so, we shall see.

My *LEAST* favorite part. Now instead of having a part of 8 people battling like hell and praying that healer can keep up, you have.... 2 people running four characters each. I refuse to use Heroes and hate the Hero system as a whole. I have not been in a 8-person party since they started it.

Might as well update what I am... Since we're grave digging.
Name I Forgot... o.O -Level 20 N/Me or N/Mo Spiteful Spirit or Minion Master
V I R U S - 20 WaMo. Swordsman, tank. A dying breed.
Genji the Ninja - 20 A/D Critical Strikes spammer.
... Many other low-rank characters...

*wonders if Guild Wars works at school*

Hmm, I'm still quite new to guild wars, so i haven't had a chance to experience that yet. But, i used to play World of War craft. so, i personally think the graphics are better then the cartoony feel.

So what are those hero's?

Ah... You were talking about the Henchmen. They are nice, but had their limits, so players were still a better option. Heroes (if you own Nightfall) are completely customizable NPCs that a player levels and controls. They're like more useful Henchmen, but I think it ruins the game for me. I always prefer more players.

As for WoW... I could never play it. Its so... Stupid looking. :\ I agree, definitely better.
