So as I was pirating with Mentira in Sigma 13 where I've just met Jarek who agreed to haul off my niobium ore for a price towards new berlin, I've encountered another ore transport.
But I also knew that one AFA and two GMG were in the system. So as I disrupted the lane I pm-ed the guy and told him he's being pirated, and that if he wants to live, he better engage the cruise engine and go to quadrant D-7 (just example, i just wanted him away from the lane).

Basically, when pirate disrupts your engines and issues an order like this, could it be interpreted as an demand? Would you actually follow a pirate if he does so? Is it too much, or just too annoying?
I saw it as something neat.

Temporarily kidnapping sounds completely 'legal' to me..

Basically what usually can happen is that guy can start screaming for help. But I think with doing that, you don't have to demand anything after that, you can blast him away.
Or do you?

The rules state you can make role-play demands. Telling him to enter a certain area is a role-play demand.
So you can do it. If he doesn't comply, then you can shoot him. Just make it possible for him to make it out intact if he complys.

On a related note, I was thinking about forcing a transport to deliver his goods to my pirate base. A friend in a heavy lifter would be on standby in case the trader is hostile to my faction and cannot dock. We get the supplies, he gets the cash for selling it. Win-Win

It's a good idea Ivan, one I've used myself on occasion. Not too many occasions though. Most traders just try to run when I make that demand. I guess they think they're about to lose everything.

Meh, when you've got the guy at the end of a big pointy SNAC or whatever nuclear contraption you have on hand. You can make em do the chicken dance if you want to. There's no rule specifying what you can and can't do in RP when you've got a trader by the balls.

Damanding anything what is in RP or can be justified by it makes sense I think.

He is hostige, whos life is like thin stroke which can be ended anytime. Well seems sense that he should obey pirates orders, or be be killed if he wont.

Yeah but is it a demand really?
Also, if you tell the guy "if you call for help, you're dead" and he starts spamming system chat with things, can you just end his life?

Tell him that, and give him multiple warnings. If he still doesn't comply, shoot him.
