Can the Freelancer ID help and assist lawful players? Say is some LN are engeged with Rogue and I have a Freelancer ID/IFF and say a Eagle and Civ Weapons, I can rush in and assist the LN?

I do think that you can do that, but only IF you ask AND receive permission to engage. And for the sake of everyone's sanity, do not gank.

Uh, no. If you see some completely random Rogue in an engagement with the Navy, then unless that Rogue is bountied, you shouldn't be engaging him.

If you were a clearly lawful Freelancer, it might be okay. Like, if you had a Libertonian ship/guns.

Just civvie stuff is no reason to engage.

Unless, of course, you come up with a great RP reason to aid the Navy. Then it should be fine.

Nah, Freelancers can only engage to claim a bounty, in self-defence, to aid the person they're escorting...

They can't actually engage with their ID unless it fits the Criteria.

See the LR ID:

Quote:Can engage pirates, terrorists and lawfuls within their Zone of Influence

The Freelancer one doesn't have a line stating that it can engage at will like that.

Yeah. They can't just go in willy nilly and help the lawfuls out of the blue. The lawfuls could ask the Freelancer to help, and they it would be fine.

Unless you have some backstory like the rogues killed your parents and you hold a grudge against them making you attack them on sight, then you can't assist the LN

Theres blanket bounties, therefore all Rogues have a bounty on them, so its allright for the freelancer to go ahead and engage.

I have my own question about the Freelancer ID, and the faction in general.

I read the Discovery Wiki article on Tags and how the flashing faction in your reputation List is the Tag that shows.

However, even though I've seen people with the Freelancer Tag flying around, I have no idea how you can get the Freelancer reputation high enough to start Flashing! They have no allies or enemies, and I can't find any missions available in Freelancer owned bases (No mission currently available, try again later.)

I tried using Bribes at Freelancer bases, but it seemed to only get me up to 0.6 (6 positive bars) at most, I bribed twice too.

I assume in order to have the Freelancer faction to flash and Tag me, I need a rep of 0.9 (9 positive bars), not just buy a Freelancer ID? Can anyone clue me in on how it's possible to get Freelancer faction to flash and tag a player?

You have to do it twice from neutral or lower rep, in one visit.

It's annoying, but it's the only way.

I'll relate a scenario without naming names.

My Barghest is attacked by two LN (Who I'd ordinarily defeat without too much trouble), and I defend myself, engaging them to let the PTrans and the other Barghest escape. Out of NOWHERE a Freelancer strafes me and I explode.

But the transport got away.

Well now I have a problem. My Freelancer Rep is already at Green (0.7, 7 Bars) but since it's not my flashing faction, drop rep doesn't work for it. Now I have no idea how to drop it! But since it's green I don't believe I can get the Bar at Barrier Gate to give me anymore Bribes.

Kind of dumb that I now have to drop my Freelancer Rep to be able to get it back up higher then before. There should be Freelancer missions or something...

Edit: Does anyone know where I can find a bunch of Freelancer NPCs that are relatively easy to handle that I could kill for awhile? It's the only thing I can think of.
