If you're "supposed" to "only trade in roleplay," chances are that you make little money at all. I know that I choose the better routes when I trade. Why? It's simple. Roleplaying anything else takes money. Trading is NOT enjoyable, and NOT fun. It supports all your other characters, and I think that those who have few goods to ship - ALG, Planetform, etc - should be able to RP AND make money.

You said yourself that we should RP when we trade.

So...... what exactly is wrong with making some money while doing so?

Well, yes, but he apparently didn't read my first post so he had no idea what I was talking about.


People automatically assume: "Oh, this is about buy/sell price changing! BAD IDEA!"

That makes me hurt inside, because the point is that it is certainly NOT about changing prices. If people would take a few moments to understand what I am saying, they would come to the epiphanic realisation that it's actually about modifying commodity volume with different IDs.

Maybe PM an admin explaining the idea in a really short, quick way? It seems like a really good idea. We already know that a ship can not take off of a planet if it has more cargo than it can carry.

This thread is awsome.

It makes complete sense and would make trading even harder for the lolwuts, casue lets face it they tend to just ioncross good routes then wonder why theyre being shot when breaking a blockade.

Combine this with a FLhook command for police/military IDd players to report smugglers and let the NPCs (and the lock of docking rights) deal with them if they wont drop the cargo (they can still run and sell elsewere, of course) and it'd revolutionaize trading ( AND smuggling ) in RP.

Now if there were just a way for smugglers/junkers to hide a certain ammount of cargo from scans it'd make RP smuggling even better (IE: they carry UNDER the limit, its invible, they carry over the limit its all visible, you cant hide that much)..... prehaps also have it depend on both ship and ID.
