I have been tiding over with X3 Reunion while I wait for the server to stagger back to life, sooo anyone have any good trading scripts or know where some are. I need my traders to work more on their own so I can haz Battleship.

If you haven't already, head over to egosoft.com and check the forums. They cover pretty much everything you could ever possibly want/need, and have an exceptional listing of almost all conceivable guides and downloads.

Is X3 still worth playing anyways? Might get it if so, but yeah, is it?

I've looked and downloaded some stuff. Still having issues with the buy best and sell best scripts. I am not sure they are working. Maybe I will just get a crappy hauler and see if they function rather then tie up one of my normal transports.

If only disco had npc ships you could controll.....

And yes worth it, btu you will pull out your hair trying to micro manage all of your traders before some npc swoops on a good deal. Dynamic Economies are rough.

I've had X3 for a long time, but kinda left it out after convincing myself that the time I spend in the game won't be shared with anyone but myself, and since it's a very expansive universe, it's easy to get lost in it..

My advice if you want to make money quick and easy is to find, for example, a key Crystal Fab near Race A's border, and blow up its trading ships. Then establish your own Crystal Fab and keep monopolizing the entire sector. I didn't get a lot of credits in the end but I was satisfied when I solo'ed a Kha'ak Carrier on my trusty M3.

I love the random Kha'ak invasion fleets, too.

Hell yeah it's still worth it. Even if it's only singleplayer, there is so much freedom to play with and so many systems to explore. You may not see it now, but all the work WILL pay off in the end when you have your own battle fleet; there is nothing more motivating than watching six M2 Cruisers with Corvette escorts plowing through a system while you launch 120 fighters from your own carrier to smack down all who would oppose you.

If combat isn't really your motivation, then you can still have a lot of fun building your own commerce empire. I mean, hell, you can build your own array of stations and factories and call them <Insert Freelancer Corporation>.

yeah I am working on my little trade group. I am sucking up all the free ships for a little boost. I have heard the raiding parties can end your fun in a sysytem VERY fast.

Hmm, if I remember correctly, energy cells are worth quite a bit if you sell it at the right place. Just gotta find where they're high on demand. Maybe also get trading extension upgrades for your traders so they can automatically trade? Been off X3 for a while myself.

Yeah, doing energy cell milk runs can add up. I'm personally a fan of capturing ships; if you can get a pilot to bail with 80% of the hull intact, send that sucker to the nearest shipyard and cash it in.
