(sarawak)

Sarawak station was built by the IMG to monitor the nearby neutron star. It serves both as an early warning station, as well as a nuclear physics lab. With an abundance of material to experiment on just next door. This proximity is both a blessing and a curse for the scientists here. rare, but unpredicatble radiation waves sometimes reach as far as the station and pose a great threat to its personnel. Apart from theoretical nuclear physics, this facility specializes in mining technology, hazardous environment countermeasures, like radiation, chemical and bio-hazards. In short, all, that the IMG miners need to make their work and lives easier and safer. It also has some great achievements in the field of weaponry and shields. A result of the constant struggle against the outcasts.

Yes, working on it.

Ok... all the bases are good (except that we need some npc changes). Now, screenies!

First: the Neutron Star from a distance.

Next: Foreground: the system's two stars. Background: Brunei Dust Field (needs some work...)

[attachmentid=1926]

Look! Palewan and Malakka! (Palewan's the small one)

Sumatra Cloud:

System Background:

Hmm.... there's Singapore. Now I just need to add the shipyard...

(freeport 12)

Freeport 12 was built by the IMG in cooperation with the Zoners, who have the richest experience in construting this type of stations. The nearby planet Borneo, as it turned out is entirely covered by an ocean, where life is abundant. New, often edible species of aquatic life are being discovered every day. It is an undepletable source of food, which feeds all IMG bases in the region. Over time, to produce a greater variety of food, biodomes were constructed. Later, when it turned out, that Borneo holds large pockets of gas beneath the ocean's bottom, IMG constructed a few drilling platforms, which now send the mined gas, mostly oxygen to the orbiting freeport.
Presently, Freeport 12 has the same function as before: harvest Borneo's richness and send the food to where it is needed.

Cool denelo, thanks a ton!

Do you think that you could add a real dense roid field? like the one in omicron 100 ( dont have to be such stones)

Malakka

Malakka has been a clasification problem ever since it has been discovered in 801 AS by an IMG expedition. It has a too thick atmosphere to be considered a terrestrial planet. Its stony core however diqualifies it as a full-right gas giant. Orbital Spa and cruise have expressed their interest in sending luxury liners to it, due to its unique, beutiful coulour. Its other economic values are however very small. Surveys have detected some noble matals on the stony core's surface, however the thick atmosphere and extreme pressure around the core make any potential mining operations very unlikely.

Sure... where do you want the thick asteroid field?

Singapore shipyard

Constructed shortly after the nomad war, Singapore is the IMG's primary shipyard. Thanks to a tight cooperation with the zoners, it is capable of building powerful battleships, known as battlestars. It also specializes in the construction of mining vessels and large freighters. It is this shipyard, that keeps the IMG safe from the outcast threat. Try as they might, they could never overrun Java base in fear of a retaliatory IMG attack on omicron alpha. Singapore is hidden far from view to ensure its safety from attacks and in the event of one, there is always enough time to react.

Btw, that dust field seems a bit too dark, could it be made completely transparent? Just so that it could blend in with the background better plz.

Thick asteroid field should be placed somewhere, where there still is empty space. If the area marked in the previous sketch is full (I mean, Borneo and FP12 are there), then please put it around sector B5 - between the system's border, the 2 suns and the neutron star

One more thing, I don't know if I look at it right, don't have the distance perspective, but doesn't the green light go too far?

Palewan (moon)

This stellar body, similarly as its neighbour, Malakka, is a clasification nightmare for scientists. It is too big for a moon, too small for a planet. It has been proven however, that Palewan has the same geological structure as Malakka's rocky core, as if they were once one. Only that Palewan has no atmosphere. This leads to an assumption, that some sort of cataclysm might have broken a bigger planet into two, where the larger part retained an atmosphere.

(rad planet update)

Mindanao neutron star

(Size, weight and other properties just like Elysium)

Warning! Extreme radiation source detected!

This stellar body is a remain of an imploded sun, turned into a neutron star. Even though the cataclysm took place millennia ago, the radiation is little weaker. That is due to the largest ever discovered uranium deposit, which is still present on the planet’s surface. Many efforts were made to attempt the exploitation of this richness. However the insane radiation there would penetrate even the best-shielded hulls. This once led to the loss of an entire mining ship with all hands. No further attempts of exploitation were made. Only some time ago, the IMG decided to construct the Sarawak research station to examine this fascinating object's properties.

Presently, Mindanao is one of the last planets in Sirius, which’s surface was never reached by any human-made machine. Fascinating for the scientists. Deadly to those unwise enough to come too close.
