It's a carrier, it can't get any less clunky than that...

In other news, the circled section is where I asked (IF YOU'D BOTHERED TO READ MY LAST POST) if you'd like an anvil prow or not. Note: I ASKED the populace to contribute on a specific topic directly pertaining to a very defined portion, and nobody bothered to answer.

Incidentally, yes, the doors WILL work, because this is Freelancer and we have cosmo ships here. Besides, these are doors like the Kusari Battleship has. For the record, I will be using a docking bay door texture for that and not a Maltese cross, so moot point.

I did read your post, its just that by ventral, I thought you meant in the middle of the ship. Now I see, you meant the ventral part of the bow :$

In that case, yes, a dorsal fin would look nice there. But, try to make it look a little different than the OC BS one.

I didn't mean they should actually open and close or anything. Just there for the looks.

But yeah, texturing a docking bay is probably the best idea anyway.

Mkay. I spent about an hour and a half messing around with about a dozen different dorsal fins, ridges, and dorsal modifications to the prow in general. For the first time in my modeling career I have actually made a core feature on a ship that will NOT change from the first ever time it was modeled. Seriously, everything I have done to that thing's prow has made it look demented, Ceasaresque, waddly, duckfooted, and every other comical descriptive having to do with poor proportions and bad lines you can think of. It will stay as-is. Any further suggestions?

I...I'm loving it...

I should hope to see either the oc battleship/dread go, I don't see the point of them having 2 battleships which are so alike (I'm fine with the number, but theres not much difference... but thats from an outsider to the outcasts)

@ carrier: One of the Nicer ships that ive seen being made. I like it, I can't wait to see it skinned

I was thinking, for the very tip on the nose, near the bottom there seems to be a protruding part (don't know how to explain it.) But you -could- make that into another bridge, like a lookout post / early warning station / refueling station for the fighter bay. Just a thought.
