Using /renameme is lame, yet I didnt see anyone using it to avoid Bounty Hunters. Probably because they all get killed for having no 'real' Bounty anyway.

Yes this has happened many times, it happens when those who know the game mechanics are pushed into corner where abusing the mechanics can get them out. The blanket bounties either eliminate or reduce that incident since it targets the ID not the name. The renameme at this moment serves to escape the large bounty and thus a large group of hunters looking for pay but it doesn't avoid the smaller general bounty that a passing hunter may take. Removing the blanket bounty would reopen that handy dodge and experience shows that it will be used more frequently.

The Liberty blanket bounty doesn't allow for BHG GB's to collect bounties on a small little fighter. For your scenario to have been achieved, without the GB's attacks being sanctionable, you would've had to have acquired a specific bounty on your head. This is needed for the BHG to satisfy the rule that they need to target only those that will get them paid. If you acquired a specific bounty then that is the result of those kinds of bounties that the OP wants to be the only focus of BHG players.

300,000 credits for the destruction of any Outcast, Hacker, Rogue, Xeno, or Rheinland Military** fighter.
Requirements: Must be a Bounty Hunter, Freelancer, or Mercenary, must fly a gunship*-class ship or lower, does not cover LF Mk 1s (Daggers, Bloodhounds, etc.)

*Gunship does not cover the Orca, only the BH Gunship
**Bounties on RM ships are only valid in the Texas system.

All bounties must be posted on the forum. If you attack another player to claim a bounty and the bounty is not posted on the forum, you are open to a PvP abuse sanction.

I'll leave it to you to check if you acquired a bounty from an organization or individual (since GBs can operate in house but needs to pick bounties that will get it paid) as I don't know your chars name or any of it's details for that matter

And they aren't shooting you for nothing - they're shooting you for being a criminal. Suck it up. Or become a junker. Alternatively go play a bounty hunter for a while and show us how it's done.

Honestly, pirates ought to stop snivelling. You don't see lawful characters demanding rules changes because their trader got pirated and destroyed or because their police character got shot up by pirates.

edit: What ProwlerPC saod. The bounties are specific enough to prevent GBs chasing you in Liberty. Which is pretty mild considering the roaming herds of cattlebruisers around NY back in the old days.

There are people agreeing with me. Tell me why Blanket Bounties even exists, because they'll make just any idiot take it as excuse to kill every crap they see? Hence why I see every few seconds a Death Message with SeaCensored in it? I mean that guy is just the best example, flying around see a hacker who hasnt done anything yet and shoot it up. (By the way he could maybe be born as a Hacker, working in a Pub, never harmed a person and flying around - Do you think he deserves to die?)

People do actually moan about piracy, but its fine at the moment. If you have something against it - Go ahead, make a thread and dont bring PIRACY into a thread about the BOUNTY BOARD.

I still think we need more of those things, anyway just counter their bounty. There is Lane Hacker bounty for Bounty hunters and there is i think still if its not deleted or drained LR bounty list, forgot anyway we need more:), with better rewards.:D

Perhaps you should look at the bounty board, I just did. You know what I noticed? Plenty of specific bounties and guess what? Look at all the "views" they get. Well surprise, surprise, it even turns out that many are lucky enough to claim some of those bounties as well.

I'll throw in my suggestion: Can people make more specific bounties? Because there are players willing to complete them.
