Seeing as the link in the Discovery Dictionary is broken, I would like to make a new thread to ask: what exactly is a "lolwutter"? What does the root word "lolwut" even mean. I'm seriously confused about this, as it gets thrown around quite often and seems to have so many meanings that I can't keep up.

YOU DANG KIDS AND YOUR HIP LINGO!

But, this r srs thread. Srsly.

It had a meaning. But then it devolved into "people who you don't like."

It's overused and means nothing anymore.

"What the (bleep)..."

If seeing someone do something made you think those three words, and not in a funny way, they are probably a lolwut.

Helping The Joker and 3 of his Thugs with a BHG GS - I'd describe that as lolwut because you'll be thinking; "What the (bleep) is a BHG GS doing helping terrorists?" Or when the LSF arrived; "What the (bleep) is a BHG GS doing shooting BAF and LSF?"

(The above is about the BHG GS, not the Joker.)

That's... actually, that's not a bad example, Dab.

Still, I find that people tend to misuse the term frequently. Some people can't tell the difference between a "Lolwut" and someone who is just doing things a bit differently. And sometimes people are just dead wrong in their assumptions.

As I said before, there are many people who attribute the title "Lolwut" to "people they don't like." For example, There's a Daumann transport in Omega 11, hauling a cargo of uncut diamonds towards the Stuttgart jumpgate. A Red Hessian intercepts the Daumann ship, and demands that the transport drop its cargo. The transport pilot refuses, and the Hessian destroys the transport. The transport pilot then relays to his friends that he was killed by "some lolwut pirate," calling the Hessian a "lolwut" only because the Daumann pilot is angry about being blown up.

In this scenario, the Hessian did nothing wrong. He is not a "lolwut." He is mislabeled as one by a disgruntled player. Too many times I have seen this happen... the word carries no meaning to me anymore.

This seems to cover most things, even if there are certainly exceptions.

It seems lolwut is becoming too generic though. We need new phrases to adequately label anti-RP frownmongers!

Lolwuts are people who don't really know or don't really care about roleplay, and are those who tend towards using emoticons and abbreviations that are OoRP.

The term is very often used as a blanket term for players people don't like - but in a lot of situations, the terms Out-of-Roleplayer, PvP enthusiast, clueless newb, troll, etc can apply more effectively to said "lolwut."

Anyone who beats me in a fight, pirates me or out thinks my tactics in any way.
Anyone with a RP, IFF, ID, ship or loadout I do not agree with 100%.

That's basically what it means to most people, he's right.
