I'm not entirely sure if this has been an idea before.. or why there are rotten tomatoes where I'm standing, but i have an idea, for Discovery! Which will mainly impact bombers, of coarse. So here it is.

The idea, is to have bombers, with bombs. The bomber would have a 'Bomb' and could only use it against caps. Lets say a big fight is going on, and there are bombers and capitols. And the bomber has 'bombs' it would go very close to the capitol ship, it doesn't matter where, and for a certain period of time, it would have to stay still, and you would see the percentage complete bar like you do for cruise. And if it is successful, maybe within 5 seconds or so, the capitol ship loses X hull, or X shield. And I'm not good with stats, so i won't even bother... And i know you are thinking, "Oh great, bombers are all powerful again!" But the catch is, the bomber would have to stay still for.. lets say 20 or 30 seconds.. which would give either capitol, or other fighters, enough time to damage the bomber sufficiently. But if one bomber survives, and gets that 'bomb' planted, it would do a good amount of damage. (supposedly)

P.S. No, I'm not good with implementing ideas into Discovery, so feel free to criticize over PMs.:P

I see you are proposing a WTFPWN mine with delayed detonation.

How about instead of adding this ability to a bomber, add it to a LF? This idea suits a class that is hard to spot and target. Bombers being frontal attack classes can't really sabotage in the way you are describing.

Yes, but then both bombers, and LFs will be killing capitol ships... And depending on the stats, this would mean the caps will be *kapoofed* a lot sooner than currently.

EDIT: This is meant to be a rare thing, like.. a once in a while successful type thing. Not an everyday PvP fight thing.

If we put bombs on bombers and wait for 20-30ish seconds... Every single bomber will die on his way to capital :mellow:

Depends on the situation. Maybe not 20 seconds.. This is the whole point though. IF IT IS SUCCESSFUL Then if will do a good bit of damage on the cap. Possibly more than a SNAC, maybe the equivalent of 2 SNACs.

what about a mine with similar drain as snac?

The mine is ridiculously strong but VERY slow, like 20-40 m/s, that will make it almost useless against any fighter unless the fighter is right behind...


Like this:

C4-B Hullbreacher Mine

Hull damage: 180 000
Shield damage: 90 000
Explosion range: 310m (or whatever is needed to damage a cap)
Projectile speed: 20-40 m/s
Energy drain: 29600

Ammo cost: 20 000 (so its not worth spamming these)


I think this would be a rather interesting thing to add

Perhaps, if the bomb costs say.. 200k? Then i think it would be more of what you are intending it to be.

Although, using it as an ultra-mine would be interesting.

Bomb cost and making it more expensive is just stupid thing to do... power traders will spam them .. and kill everything.. and those who will use them normally wont be able to use it all the time due the cost...

Increasing cost if just good for power traders with money..

Limiting it to: 5 per ship would be fine.. not 70
