Small something I'm working on, rearranging the stars and finishing the nebula later, just wanted any user input I can get.

brighten up the ship, put a frame around it or meld it into something and is something firing on the planet or is it leaking into space?

Dont get me wrong it looks better but you asked about improvement

Reminds me of something similar the Joker made. But yeh, make it somewhat more bright. At least the ship.

I would keep the ship in this dark light.

The ship seems to be on the far side of the planet and the sun is blocked.
Looks creepy.

Like space looks like.

light is hitting the bottom left part of the planet, so going by that, i suggest you give light highlights to the bottom areas of the ship, as if there is light coming from the bottom left side of the image. if you render the model in a 3d modelling program, this will become even easier to do, since you can dictate where you wish to place the spotlight in order to brighten up the model.

When you crop the image to create the render, use the polygonal lasso tool, zoom in on specific areas and slowly bit by bit manually do them, when you use the magic wand as you have here it leaves unwanted bits here and there, and Blurring/Smudging them dosent work mate.
